I’ve decided to play through Fatal Fury and the King of Fighters, in order. The first reason is to see how the series progresses. The second reason is I never beat the original FF games back in the day.
Fatal Fury - I beat this game yesterday. Picking Andy helped a lot. I was able to get through everyone up until Billy with relative ease. The main problem with Billy was trying to get him to throw his fucking stick (but when he did, he was a pushover). Geese took incredible timing and prediction, but a combination of throws and :l::r::p: took him down eventually.
Fatal Fury 2 - Okay, so after getting used to FF1 this was a nightmare. Once again I play as Andy. I slugged my way through the regular fighters, with Joe being the hardest. The bosses were horrible, especially Billy. Lance really threw me off, since I had to mount a full-force offensive to take him down, and I was getting used to playing pretty defensively.
And here’s where I’m stuck, if anyone has any tips. Krauser is making me his bitch with no remorse. I can’t seem to get close enough to actually hit him, much less throw him. Whenever I try :db::uf::k: he just blocks and follows up with a massive throw.:db::r::p: gets me a fireball to the face. Is there some trick to beating him? I’ve been stuck for hours.
Don’t do Kuuha Dan. Appoach him like old-school Sagat. Except Krauser’s anti-air is not nearly as good. Sweep a lot and use Zenei-Ken to pressure him on wake-up. Throw a lot when close.
I started going through the Fatal Fury’s a few days back. So far I’ve only beaten FF1 with Terry and Andy. Still need to go through with Joe. My main goal in replaying them is to try and learn other characters while I wait for KoFXI. I;m having a good time so far
I’m having a hell of a time trying to sweep. I’ve started spamming Zeneiken, and got him cornered once, but he jumped into the back row right after wake-up (right before I had almost killed him), then proceeded to finish me off.
