I think the stages look too big and the characters look too small, and also they’re at an odd angle. The screen space each character is given seems to be uneven. But good luck, seems you have your heart in the right place.
I’m going to be brutally honest, please don’t take this personally. The title of the game sounds like meaningless gibberish to me. Aesthetically its very rough. Being an animator myself that aspect sticks out to me like a sore thumb. ATM it looks very stiff and awkward. Gameplay wise its hard to tell from the brief videos you posted but nothing in particular stood out to me. What sets this apart from the already crowded fighting game genre?
Thx for that, I’ll will be sure to tweak this.
No offense taken, I’m taken note of everything as we speak. Animation wise everything is in still in is rough draft stages, it’s pretty much being used as a template at the moment. I haven’t even applied proper lighting, bump maps, facial animation, yet. Right, now I’m more focus on adding a couple of more features in, at the moment. As for gameplay, I’ll let that do the talking, once I get things rolling. Things are easier said then done, so give me a little more time, hopefully I can have something better to show by this weekend.
I will give you the benefit of the doubt in the visuals department but in my experience most games don’t visually change too drastically from reveal to release (unless they completely reboot production). First impressions are important and this looks very janky. I hope you can prove me wrong. Best of luck.
The game got a name change?
I don’t make heavy first impressions on indie games. Just not sensible considering how they can change wildly over time. More relevant for triple AAA titles. The game just had its name changed like a fucking hour ago lol.
I like the concept of the gameplay though. It does have that 2v2 vs game feel that’s missing from a lot of games. There aren’t many vs games anymore in general like their used to be in the past and that’s one of the reasons I loved playing Marvel 3. I like those games better than one on one + choose your kawaii assist animu games. It was just the only relevant game where you could pull that team/meta aspect and make what one characters does effect the other character. Your characters made a tower of power and the teams were essentially their own characters.
Skullgirls is the only other game like this, but it has really gimped movement options and just kinda focuses more on button presses. Which is good, but it just doesn’t feel Marvelly enough movement wise.
This game goes back to having that OG zany Marvel movement with the team aspect where 2 characters effect each other’s play and can create teams/metas that actively change during the match.
So what are some of the unique mechanics that Fatal Fate brings to the FG genre?

Once, I get the campaign and such rolling, and I will get more in detail soon enough. I just want to get some actual gameplay vids up, playing against ai wont do it any justice at the moment, I might have to see if my friend is down for some matches.
Update of visuals SnapShot 1
Guess I’ll give it one more go, to whom it may interest, Fatal Fate needs your vote to get on Steam GreenLight. Would be greatly appreciated.

Got any footage of 2 people playing?
Going to get a friend of mine to play with me soon, once he’s free.
I gotta be honest. Based on the gameplay footage I wouldn’t pay for this game. It just needs a lot more polish in the visual department. I can’t really judge the gameplay unless you put out a demo or something.
I can barely see anything will all the links taken down including the Greenlight page. What I have seen is not great, but has potential. Which I guess is why it shouldn’t be on Greenlight or listed as free if it where to make it on Steam until its polished to the point of being able to sell. It has some glimpses of potential but I can’t tell if they dev is damage controlling, canceling the project or what.
I decided to put a hold on project intill polished up enough.
These characters look pretty boring… I mean don’t you have any unique designs instead of a bunch of teenagers you’d see behind the mall?
No furries.
