Fallout: New Vegas

Hell yes!

Look at my sig baby!

Western Action RPG : I’m there.

However they need to change the floaty look of the run/walk from FO3/ESIV when you go 3rd person. Shit always looked stupid IMO.

This is gonna be great

It is an expansion. Same engine, same gameplay, etc. I predict around 20 hours of gameplay.

BTW are they taking a stab at the fans of F1 and F2 by going back West? Vault 21, NCR, etc.

Also wasn’t Caesar’s Legion supposed to be in the ā€œoriginalā€ F3 (Van Buren)? I guess they are using concepts from there.

The guys in charge of Van-Buren are making New Vegas.

Speaking of playtime, how many hours did you guys put into FO3? I have about 10 more quests to do, and I have 110 hours on my main file.

O rly? Didn’t Bethesda tell the original creators to ā€œfuck offā€? I haven’t followed the drama since F3 came out, so I may be out of the loop. If what you say is true, then there’s still hope, since they had some crazy good ideas for Van Buren, which I hope they will bring in New Vegas.

Why are you so upset with this game? Sure it looks the same, but it’s still a new setting and new gameplay elements. I don’t think it’s fair to label the game a simple expansion when we only know the basics about it.

Yeah, the lead designer of Van Buran is the game director for this game. Not only that, several folks from Fallout 1 and 2 are involved. It’s in good hands.

Im not upset. I just don’t expect much. I’ll buy it, I’ll play it, I just ain’t got no hype for it. (ok maybe a TINY bit of hype cause of Van Buren and stuff, but I believe the magic that team had back then is gone by now)

It’s not a new game, it’s not Episodes or DLC, hence it’s an expansion. Unless you believe they will deliver a new game from the ground up that they made in like 1 year… I also don’t expect this to be fully priced. I hope not.

I’m hyped for the mods that’ll be made for the PC version. Modded Fallout can increase your playtime tenfold.

True dat. I’m definatly interested in ā€œhardcoreā€ mode, which is basically a bunch of mods put togheter, but atleast they are on the right track.

That’s exactly what I’m sayin.

Some of the new features in New Vegas, were probably inspired by mods very similar that are already available for FO3.

And also, one of the posts above that mentioned the stupid looking floaty jump from FO3 and Oblivion? Mods already fixed that too.

Honestly guys, if you’ve got a PC please get these games for the PC, even if your PC is garbage you can run them on low settings, that’s what Bethesda is good at. The console versions are shadows of the PC versions. And I hope you guys didn’t forget, how long it took for the PS3 version to get the DLC.

I mean, new quests get made all the time from users, that make the regular stuff look real outdated, as it should be. I bet you Bethesda be playing the mods users create, cause they got their own forums for it. And looking at the New Vegas features, shit is inspired by them.

Speaking of mods, they have the guy who made the OOO mod for Oblivion working as a Designer as well. He practically singlehandedly balanced the game and put in a ton of content.

I can run FO3 on lowest settings at around 10-30FPS.

Yeah I’ll get all the top tier mods like new weapons, extra locations, more quests, perks, new enemies, animations, re-textures, etc. Mods can even fix any game bugs that official patches either don’t or miss.

But it’s the relatively minor things that made FO3 one of the best RPG’s I’ve played.

For example, the ability to change NPC faces.

I did most of my trading with Moira Brown and damn was she fugly in vanilla FO3. No problem, get the mod that edits Fallout faces, now I’m less tempted to shoot her every time I visit Craterside Supply.

Dragon Age allows mods and although Mass Effect 2 is a great game itself I’d still rank DA:O over ME2. I had hoped we could mod Mass Effect 2 so I could change Miranda’s weird face (like in DA where you can make Morrigan look less bitchy).

Damn, cannot wait for hardcore!

Bump. Fallout: New Vegas gameplay footage.

I dunno, now after looking at it (and I was also hearing that they will release the game unfinished and patch later, but I cannot find a quote) is giving myself a completely different feeling for the game now. The grim setting of the Wasteland in 3 was a huge reason I picked up the game and now it seems to have virtually vanished. Hopefully later footage will show more promise, but for now I’m starting to feel a little disappointed.

Man I am hype for this game. Surprisingly enough we haven’t even received any copies at work yet. Can’t seem to find any reviews online either.

Embargo until release day

Ugh, I was so excited to play this game on release, only for my 360’s drive to fail and it’s over a year old. Might as well wait to get it on PC once I build it. (Which will be in February  )
