Blanka can LINK his ultra from a c.mk, ryu and sagat can’t link of a jab. They can cancel a jab into a srk, fadc and juggle with ultra, which is a totally different thing.

Ryu can c.lp, link cr.lp, cancel into shoryu, FADC into ultra. That’s what I was referring to.
Sagat can do this too with cr.lk, **link **cr.lk, TU FADC, f.rh, ultra.
Balrog can do something similair, but it doesn’t require an FADC and the ultra damage is pretty low.
Are you saying this is gdlk ? There’s always a chance when it comes to tournament play with the pressure that a Ryu player could somehow mess up the timing of confirming a srk from a cr.lp link , which right there lets the Ryu player use 2 super bars for nothing if you know how to get out of his FADC .
The only thing I will agree with the thread is actually buffing the characters that looks as they should have the ability to juggle with an ultra ( Fei-Long , Rose , Ken , etc. )

That combo does require skill and metter. I hardly see Ryus pulling that combo off. They normally wait for someone to jump at them so they can lp.SRK and juggle with a Ultra. Which requires no meter or FADC timing.

You make no point what so ever with Ryu, players use both options. The latter is used cause its much easier, not once did I mentioned that I get caught with this. Not to be too picky, but you would chain c.lp c.lp, not link. Also, you CAN combo supers in ST.
Yeah it’s possible, but it’s not like you can to the extent that is present in 4, and the resulting damage is mostly not nearly as impressive.
I’ve seen some nifty Ryu combos where the super is involved, but those are usually extremely situations based scenarios and would likely have to be set up. You probably won’t see that sort of thing come out in a real match.
LOl, the game came out for console in 09. Are u discriminating because not everyone discovered this forum at the same time as u? some ppl like to play the game and not post about it. Do u see any of the big pro players posting on srk? if they started would u call them scrubs as well?
If all ur doing is playing online then u prolly dont know how serious players play. Also it looks like ur in G2, so u prolly havnt even gotten to the higher play games where there r more players than the random jumpers who dont know what theyre doing.
And u shouldn’t talk about ppl sucking, ive played DEvil and def knows more about the game than u do (after watching that vid he posted of u, its hard to take ur sign up date as a indicator of how good u r lol)

Yes the game would be more “fair” IF everyone has some sort of cancel/juggle/combo into their ultra. Yes Sakura and Gen can land their ultras through combos, but their ultras are very weak and dont measure up to the amount of dmg some of the other players ultras can deal (and can take). If u havnt noticed a lot of the console characters r not even fairly ranked on the tier list, prolly because of lack of serious players using them (most japanese and a lot of americans only play arcade).
Gief and Akuma have no combo’s into their ultras, but they are relatively easy to land. Giefs is an auto grab at point blank and akumas is really good for anti air and goes through most moves at point plank. AND they r both grabs! u dont need the same setups as the other block able ultras.
theres nothing wrong with abusing a characters strengths, but too allow some to do something that the others cant is kind of unfair. No I dont mean shoot fireballs, i mean things that could have easily been added. Things like guile being able to ex cancel is flash kick while upside down, but vega not being able to ex cancel his ST which is like a flash kick except already has less priority.

I play all sorts of players, good and bad. This is part of playing online. Even if u started playing sometime in 09, you should been able to figure this out by now.

this game is fucking boring as it is. taking out FADC ultra combos would kill any excitement this game has going for it

I get the feeling that some people are mad about ultra setups, not because how useful they are, but because they don’t get to be as flashy with their character.
Let’s be honest. Ryu’s ultra is super useful, but some of his ways of landing it are freakin’ flashy. His ultra has the “in yo face!” factor.
The main character that gets flak for ultra setups is ryu, but it’s not like he gets massive damage off it.
If it really is about landing a free ultra very easily, then where’s rufus’ name? he can juggle ultra off standing HK, or stanging LK>HK. no meter required. same with Abel’s c.HP.
Some charcters can combo ultra without even FADC’ing. Should I be pissed that i have to burn meter? Not to mention, I’m pretty sure that every character has a focus attack.
Stop complaining about Ryu. It’s not like he can ultra off a back-throw or something.
