Stupid little punk jumped up and got Pena’d. As for why Pena was held so long…anybody notice a trend of black folks being considered innocent in inter-racial assaults even if they were the perps? Just started this year, from what I can tell. As a black man, even I have to say that’s fucked up.

If Pena had not slapped some sense into this girl, she and the other harpies would have continued to harass him and the other passengers. Even the guy recording the incident was at their mercy and that video is the only reason Pena isn’t still in jail.
It’s a major problem over in Australia as well, I think the reaction to the justified complaints of racism have led to a lot of places feeling like they need to tread on egg shells in case people go “WOW WHY WASN’T THAT WHITE DUDE JAILED FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME?”

Everyone in NY takes the train.
Public transit isn’t any real indication about their wallets. It’s easier (so to speak) and more efficient to get around, especially in NY.
Traffic can get bad enough that it will take you 1-3 hours to get through ~15 miles during certain times. People who live in other areas don’t really know what gridlock traffic really is. Why deal with that shit when you can just take the train instead? It’s 3 times faster on average and I can do work while on the train (get through 100+ e-mails) or catch up on sleep.
I have been taking the train for two decades and have never been attacked by a female, then again, even when I sleep on the train, I look like:
