F+MK/Hammer Kick Uses

hammer kick can trade with srk (wakeup) and it isn’t hard to time either imo. its pretty interesting for close range fb’s because their punish can get traded which is pretty interesting. its pretty safe if a trade hit victory is a possibility

Hey guys, sorry to necro this but I haven’t been playing very often lately and just discovered something ridiculous. I haven’t tested this on any other character but Dudley so far, but Hammer Kick is an easy link into standing lk which gives a ridiculously easy hit confirm into st. lk st. mk sjc ultra II

I’m going to be away from SSF4 for a long while so if anyone wants to look into if it works on any other characters would be neat. It’s REALLY easy to link imo

People say dp trades with Ibuki’s overheads? I’d like to see them use dp reversals people will actually use, that being :mp:dp, not :hp:dp.

my question is how this, how is the frame data on this calculated… it doesnt make sense unless the moves active frames “track”

it shows as only having 2 active frames, yet i think weve all hit with the early portion of this move ( on opponent blocks high block) and yet hit meatier further in the animation on crouch block… which suggests way more than 2 active frames…

plus when using this move on wakeup very early, i can basically damn near hit someones elses ankles with it… so the move either tracks for when the opponent is hittable and hits them… or it has many active frames like a jumpin and thus has more advantage the lower it hits…

but which is it?.. if it has many active frames then it would be smart to use it as a meaty in certain situations cause that would mean a fuckload of blockstun and hitstun and possibly a safe way to combo cr.fp or make for a crazy frame trap…

if it tracks that is actually better cause it means that ibuki will ALWAYS be at +3 on block, which makes it a VERY good frame trap/mixup/jailing move… it would basically be a very slow divekick that actually functions as an overhead, unlike most other divekicks in the game…
