I’m saying he might be the final boss, because he is the final character to be revealed, second in command of Shadaloo, kind of creepy and arguably the most original idea for a boss among all the characters in the roster.
His fighting style and mannerisms remind me of Drunken Fist style ala Jackie Chan. No idea where the bird flapping came from though, and I don’t even know how I feel about it yet. Laughing at its ingenuity while face palming at the same time.
he’s weird, he looks dumb, and he fights dumb… And I love him for it. Easily my favorite of the new guys. And this coming from somebody who liked all of them to some capacity(Though I have zero interest in playing Rashid)
Alright so firstly, after playing KI whoever ends up being the “boss” will most likely not be the FINAL boss. Like KI the storyline will most likely be expanding after launch. They’re not just going to be dropping more characters with a base story.
People rumored that Necalli would be the final boss, now people are looking at Fang. If either one of them end up being bosses, it’s very possible they may end up just being the temporary boss until the actual final boss is released later on as DLC and adds to the story.
Looking at KI Season 1 the boss was Shadow Jago. Season 2 it was then Aria who was also the last DLC character of that season and then it is stated that the “final” 3rd boss will be Gargos who ties the story all together.
Never heard about people saying he’s a throwaway. Maybe his personality is just too bland and pointless for some (like El Fuerte, who has a nice design but is annoying as hell), or he’s just too tied with the SF4 arch, or he’s just too similar with Alex’s archetype whilst Laura is the first “BJJ” character of the series. But his aesthetic design fits perfectly the SF style, and in this specific subject he’s not different from Laura at all. Maybe people like Laura more because she’s the less worst, and the most sfish, of the new four? =)
Necali and Nash are kinda freak for me. That would make 31%. Plus, when I say ‘SF2’ I’m considering the whole SF2 series. That would make a 11/16% cast of freak kinda characters I guess. And of course, SF 2 series had no joke characters (DJ at the maximum?).
But what bothers me more is the frequency of new dumb, freak, joke characters. SF4 series had how many newcomers? 9? How many were exactly regular/normal and not clown/joke/freak dudes? 3?
“貳” can also mean “to betray”. We don’t know much about the character yet, but given the leaked story lines, it seems very appropriate. I guess the “貳” refers to him being second in command and him being a turncoat. That’d be pretty cool, if it happens to be true.
To be fair, “Who am I?” is a perfectly valid story seed if they ever decide to go somewhere with it. Off the top of my head: SF 6, Abel learns he is a robot, suffers a mind-break, overrides his own safety protocols to unlock his full killing potential, decides to wipe out humanity starting with the only fighters strong enough to oppose him, hosts a new street fighting tourney to lure them in to his trap. Boom, whole new story, ‘new’ boss, interesting Abel.
As far as FANG goes, I don’t really mind the character model- looks pretty creepy actually. I just wish they had made his persona 20% less goofy, 20% more sinister. Dude actually looks sinister as fuck when he’s not prancing about.
I actually wish they would’ve incorporated a full Drunken Fist style into his play style. Since alcohol is actually a poison, it would’ve fit perfectly with what they’re trying to represent with him, and be a first for the series. I’m seeing a lot of exaggerated snake and crane styles in Fang’s styles, going as far to have him perform the crane stance from Karate Kid.
I actually wish they would’ve used this animation as part of his CA, and base it of the crane kick. They could even make it look just as ridiculous; Fang flapping his arms about while flying into the air crane kicking his opponent relentlessly. It would of at least been based on a fighting technique instead of looking like Wing Attack.
What’s more interesting to me is that this probably means storywise, that Sagat finally told Bison to go fuck himself. Vagrant/wanderer Sagat incoming 2017.
Actually, Sagat did that long ago. In the SF2 Aftermath video, a Shadaloo agent goes to Sagat to get him to rejoin Shadaloo, but he Low Tiger Shot’s the guy back to the Shadaloo HQ on his own.
