Experiencing any bugs in MVC2?

I heard that the timing on the DC was already a marvelous mess, and that some of what we like is kind of the results of already lagged moves - so that even to have it be as accurate as it is required specific tweaking here and there.

I think Backbone did a fricking amazing job, and hope we don’t forget that. I simply hope that Capcom gives them the chance to finish up the last batch of stuff we noticed.

The more I test this game, the more its ending up like ass zach. All they had to do was make sure it was like the DC and they can’t do it right? They got ST right for HDR didn’t they?

The current game is hot garbage. When magneto calls a helper and starts dashing around, there’s random frame rate dropping. This is the most basic of movement in the game and yet it can’t be done properly. Hell even s.fp with magneto causes the game to bog down and lose frame rate. @ this point in time, the game is no where CLOSE to being tourney playable. Matter of fact, I’ll play the ps2 version for tournies rather than this port…

and with the game being so “random” it’ll take us years to discover what was messed up in the converting process. By then, they won’t give a fuck about patching it anymore. They might as well say fuck it and make mvc3.

why should it be the last thing, because for all those affected by it should just buy a stick or a wired controller. someone needs to know that its not them sucking, its something wrong with using a wireless controller with the game. i know that high level play of this game almost requires you to have to have a stick, but im sure fanatiqs evo2k6 performance on a fucking ps2 pad would say otherwise for those who want to dedicate to pad, even though we cant map macros on the xbox 360 version and its a shitty pad in itself. srk niggaz is fucking dumb. i been playing on a stick for fucking years, (sticks werent just invented with xbox 360) and i just didnt purchase one yet for my xbox 360 because i really didnt give that much of a fuck about sf4 to take 20 minutes out of my day and 150 out my pocket to even go get a stick up until mvc2’s release.

so you think they should ignore the thousands of users who have wireless controllers for something they could probably patch with ease, and just be like, fuck you, buy a wired pad, or get a fucking stick. you gotta be either fucking dumb, or 12.

lol

we should make sure the pads work properly instead of making the game tourney legit? think about the big picture.

There is tons of crap wrong with this game. If they fix the pad issue but don’t fix the slow down issues, what will be the point? You will be playing on a POS port regardless of your pad. gettt ittt??? whats more important, jack fuck sitting in montana playing on his pad or the tourney community getting a good port?

who says you need to be a 150$ stick? Go hack a pcb or get a converter for 35$ which are available. You can make your own 360 stick for about 60$ if you can get a cheap ass pcb. only a dumb 12 year old will pay 150$ for something that only really cost 60$.

Wireless controllers are banned from Evo anyways. Moot point.

I"m very curious as to what the PS3 vs Xbox 360 experience will be. From the demo and at Evo, it seems like they were focusing on the PS3. I’ve heard that the 360 is much more overtaxed than the PS3 is/will be.

There’s some curiosity as to whether they simply don’t have anyone that astute enough or Magneto-proficient to notice differences in offline play with the Sprite filters off(?), or what exactly is going on.

I think you’re noticing really really specific things (which I of course notice too) that are diseased trees within the forest of good. If you don’t think my brain isn’t exploding from my head when I win 20 games and it says I went 16-4… you’re wrong. If you don’t think my brain isn’t exploding from my head that Megaman is heavily nerfed in this version(!)… you’re wrong. Same with unblockable-on-jump AHVB, needing to preguess attacks, etc. There’s a lot of stuff I’d love to see fixed.

But I’m also going to play this like evidently tons of other people because regardless it’s a fun game, and nothing that’s been pointed out is game-breaking as opposed to game-changing. It’s MvC2 360 - it’s clearly not the Dreamcast version, but I can play online with people around the world, and that rules in my book.
And it’s about 96% accurate to what I want/need, and that’s pretty excellent so far.

It seems from everything we HAVE heard that Capcom IS going to make a patch for the top issues. So right now I’m more than happy to celebrate the excellence we got and pee myself in rage over the things that are wrong.

You’ll know there’s a problem when DC Marvel side-tourney gets more entrants than PS3 :]

Hopefully it’s as simple a fix as making sure that the Lag Input delay doesn’t come into play in offline matches for 90% of the issues.

I did notice that certain links are easier on 360, namely those Rom LK links, which is curious. That definitely says something about how the 360 is processing frames. I’m gonna try some unblockable stuff later and see if the 360 is dropping frames similar to Dc. I can’t say that the slow-down is linked to Mag’s s.FP, in my limited observation, but it does choke here and there with Magnibbla seemingly at random.

Unless there’s any objections, I’d like to move this to a new thread where the first post will be continuously updated to reflect the current set of known bugs.

definitely Preppy, some if we could oraganize in such a way where each bugs are listed in a easy to understand fashion (some kind of format to follow) when describing the bugs.

since capcom is looking @ these boards, a new format with less clutter will increase our chances of being heard. The forum over on capcom unity is filled with scrubs posting the dumbest shit to get fixed. They got 10 pages of clutter in their bug thread and I have no clue how the developers are going to sift through the dumb shit and the legit shit since they don’t play the game as tourney players.

I encourage everyone to dabble offline for a few minutes regularly. Just go to arcade mode\ training mode and do the stuff that works on the DC to see if there are any differences.

Sounds like a good idea Prep. I’m gonna confirm a few unblockables in a couple.

Edit: Judging from what I can see from the Doom and Chun UBs, the frame cycle works the same as it did on DC, at least as far as I can tell by eye.

New thread.

Please help make this as useful as possible for Capcom.
