does anyone know how to make chankast work?
I really want to play sf3.
Um…well all I can tell you is how to get it to work, can’t talk about iso’s or anything.
Ok first you need a progam that can emulate cd-rom drives. Do a search on google for daemon tools, it can do that.
Next you are going to need the image file for Third strike, you can’t just put the GD-Rom in your pc drive. Even a burnt game in your drive wont work.
Ok now that you have daemon tools installed, go to the new drive it made in my computer, and right lick on it. Go to the option that says mount image and select your Third Strike image.
After that go to www.chanka.org and download the latest version of Chankast, which is Alpha 0.25. Exract it into a folder.
Now, you are going to need the Dreamcast Bios. I cannot tell you where to get those as well. When you get them, put them in the main directory of Chankast.
Ok, now we are almost done. The options are pretty easy to configure, but one option you will HAVE to put on if you want to run any Capcom fighter is the Capcom Hack, if you do not enable this they will not run fast enough, regardless of your pc.
Ok after you have all of yoru options set and your controls ready, click on options, then configure drive, then select the drive Daemon tols made for you. After that just go to run then start!
Now Third Strike will not run very well on my pc, but I guess if this is your only way of playing it, go for it, maybe you will have more luck than me.
Although this emulator is very well advanced for it’s time, it’s not too good for fighting games, since the slight speed change ruins timing sometimes. If you are having speed trouble. use the + and - keys on your numpad to adjust the cpu clock emulator.
Ok, good luck, I hope this works for you, keep me updated.
It says something about liscensing. Do I need to liscense it first?
I got it to work! Thank you very much! I wish there was some way to thank you!
Oh awesome, how is Third Strike running for you?
Its EXTREMLY slow and has resolution problems. I cant really enjoy it with these problems. But its fun still, cant wait to get mvc2! 9 hrs was worth it!
I was wondering… will Chanka update their emulator ?
Most likely yeah, just like how this emu came out of nowhere and blew away the competition, I think they are waiting until they have a even better version before they release it. I’m pretty sure they are working on it as we speak.
Now i’m annoyed by the background sprites that are getting in the way of the fighting and its TOO SLOW! Any way of fixing this?
yeah its called waiting for the next release. this emu is in its infant stages…
Oh, its old? Beta maybe?
This emu is fairly new, it’s only on it’s second release, but it runs a lot of games very well! Third Strike just happens to be one of them that doesn’t run well.
