I don’t agree with that. I don’t purposely pick low-tier. I pick characters I like. Though I really hate how low Remy’s stamina is and will always curse a competent Dudley getting a BnB.
i didnt mean every single person who plays a low tier. I just meant a large group of online players.
I still don’t agree. A lot of people I’ve encountered mostly fuck around with all characters, never doing combos and just being random as usual. Mostly when people lose with a low-tier character they immediately switch to Ken/Akuma in the next set, and **THEN **they curse you out when they lose.
Touché
Eh I do find the low tier thing is p true for many people.
It’s often the people who aren’t really serious, but serious enough to actually learn the game somewhat. Low tier is a crutch for a weak ego.
Online messes with stuff a lot as far as what characters people pick. Offline and with a group the reasons are a bit different, you often find a lot more variety. I find when you actually play offline with a group of people everyone tends towards choosing a different character. In dtown there are diff people who come through but the usuals are
Ryu
Akuma
Alex
Oro
Chun
Dudley
Makoto/Ken
Necro/Q
Urien player is missing for the time being.
Ryu/Remy (but ive been mostly mia this fall/winter)
Everyone always wonders why theres so much more diversity in Japan? Because those guys have been playing as a group for a long time and are most likely friends not just competitors.
I really think alex is an extremely underestimated, under used character. His pokes are TOO good. They’ re like chun nerfed good.
Seriously though, Alex is good and no one really plays him too much in both America and Japan.
I think you’re begging for likes, but I agree anyway.
Takes more then just pokes to make a char good.
You’d be surprised by the amount of Alex players there were during 3S’s heyday in America, not to mention the consistent Alex players in Japan. Granted there aren’t as many Alex players who make it to Top 8, but he’s still a relatively popular character.
Before I quit, the only good players on XBL that I could immediately recall (and actually played) were ryan, exo, and Sandybags.
p.s. Artayes sucks. You didn’t have to be a GGPO regular to know this.
In my eyes, this is one of those games where the top-tier characters are a lot of fun to play as (except for Chun). I’ve tried entire roster but no really really is as fun to play. My main is Mak and I love her speed and power and risk/reward nature. Yun is fun… Because he’s just fun to play as. Ken is a powerhouse and probably is the most threatening figure in the game. Oh, and footsie-range SRK’s all day son…
I do take pride in my Sean though. I debate whether he actually is my 2nd best character… I do seem to do a lot better with Sean than Ken for some reason though…
because you’re not playing the game correctly.
lmao you get your ass kicked by me and say I suck. pure classic! grow up, dude… and I mean mentally. you sound like another sour player that feels like a pathetic sap when getting beat by a Necro player.
ask hisanicjap and sandybags how bad I am! or maybe when I perfected MuralTag’s Ken and Yun, and when I trounced on EatableTech’s Yun. yeah, I suck…
I haven’t played on GGPO in awhile, but there was only a handful of players who could beat me. stop trolling, asswipe.
anyways, best players on xbox live:
DJBOOTY
SANDYBAGS
GUNFIGHT (even though he is really laggy for me and only played him a handul of times, but like mentioned, he is really good on matches I have seen on videos)
DOYOUDIGWORMS (your Q has gotten far better, and I respect that)
there are other great players as well, but can’t think of any off top of my head. NoMoreFunLand- you are getting much better. keep it up. Although, I don’;t quite agree I haven’t been as rough on you as some of the others you mentioned. But I understand as I have used Urien a few times on you and you beat him. I just fuck around with Urien, Necro is my one and only true character.
You are deluded. I can’t find Ryan’s post (please someone link it here so this moron can read it) but you are one of the worst Necro players in the world. Stop playing 3S.
You know who I hate playing: 2 people
Robertthunder and Daddylonglox(?)
RT plays Remy and is very bad. Sent me hate-mail and stalks my youtube videos -__-… If you play this man, show him no respect.
I whole heartedly agree. Lox does the same thing virtually every match we have and abuses lag. I don’t know how many matches I’ve had with this guy who thinks full screen fireball spam into random Shinku Hado is a legit tactic. Robertthunder is not worth your time.
Artayes thanks for the kind words. I dig your Necro and he is one of the most difficult characters to be good with. You have to commit a lot of time to that character and you clearly do. I respect that.
Have we played b4? My tag is cpt egregious. Yours looks very familiar. I think I played you as Sean and lost because I don’t play the Q vs. Makoto matchup. Just like I’m going to learn a new character vs. Hugo… Sandybags has ruined my ability to play Makoto vs. Hugo. That matchup just pisses me off because for every good thing I do that give me leverage it gives Hugo an automatic 360 pretty much (I will no longer refer to SPD’s as SPD’s because SF4 is boring and needs to die)…
Lox sent me hatemail because I refused to play him. See, I enjoy playing new people. I don’t enjoy playing people who don’t want to learn. It’s pretty evident in their play styles that they don’t want to learn

Really it’s not the difficulty, it’s the brutality of new players playing veterans. If you’re a noob and you play anybody who is competent at 3s you will get bodied hard and probably quit. Compare that to SSF4 where even noobs are made to feel like they accomplished something while being dominated. You generate multiple bars while taking hits, damage scale prevents super fast wins and in general offense can get blown up with random mashing forcing the better player to respect the noob.
EatableTech is pretty good. Also Dyne is good as hell
