The thing about Spellmaster J and Team Osaka(Umezono/Shiro Itachi/Matsuda) are that while they’re really good, guys like Nuki, KO, Boss and Rikimaru are considered to be way better but have lost most or all the time in SBO. One thing that can be said though, is that those last four guys have placed Top 4 or Grand Finals more consistently than most other players in all of Japan. That itself can be considered more impressive than winning(though everyone’d like to win).
ochibi has also placed a lot; teamed up mostly with those guys if i remember. no wins though.
… what the hell? I genuinely feel bad saying this and I hope it doesn’t come across too bad, but it’s comments like this that make me think some of the people who say all online is garbage are people who don’t have great reactions. Or maybe they just have a different approach to playing fighting games than I do, one that only works offline (and in before “yeah and yours online works online,” because that isn’t true). Or they don’t seem to realize/accept that players make mistakes every single game both offline and online and that just because you tried to parry a jump in and lost doesn’t mean the game is ass.
parrying online feels more like anticipation rather than reactionary.
Like I remember when I first played on a cab, I kept getting hit by gouki red fireballs and ex hados
I still don’t understand why in the mother of fuck is SBO SE. Stupid.
my top 5
kuroda > mov > nuki >= boss >= ko
Actually Roboto is right, it does happen. Not with every player but when there’s that 1 frame delay you really start noticing it. It’s usually when you see Dudley jump in HP really early and you see them falling and try to AA them because he can’t do shit at that point. Then the game teleports them to the ground as you AA them and they throw you or they do Super or EX SRK.
hayao is every bit as good as kuroda, imo
then we can discuss about 3rd,4th and 5th place
i could write for hours about this kind of stuff but maybe not in this thread ? é_é
If you can clearly see the teleport, there is no point playing with such a bad connection.
Try doing what I said against an early jump roundhouse from dudley online. 90% of the time you will get hit when you try to parry unless you know the hit is coming before hand you will eat it.
This is how I feel… while I’m playing as soon as I see one rollback/teleport I say “gg” and close the client.
I’m pretty sure it’s exactly the same thing offline, that’s just how Dudley’s jump-ins work. You’re not going to parry 7 or 11-frame moves on reaction offline either…
Dadori jump ins are a pain the ass to parry no matter whatyou are playing on.
s.
If he is in the air that limits his options to parry or hit until he falls down. You can also crouch and then parry which makes reacting to air hits easier. So yes I can parry dudley’s air hk on reaction offline.
Anyways most people seem to have missed my point. Its not about winning or losing online for me heck I do really good online and win almost all my games (I don’t care just saying it for the people that said im mad because I lose all the time) and my reactions are in no way slow. The point I tried to make was that online 3s is in no way a good replacement to its offline counterpart.
Artayes is back? I thought you were dead.
lmfao, that link was funny
that isn’t what parrying on reaction is though. the reason techniques like crouching to force a later parry exist in the first place is to shift the odds to make it more likely that you won’t get hit, precisely because parrying moves like that on reaction can’t be done. not reliably, anyway. people understand and agree with your point, but the example you chose wasn’t a great one.
How does YSB do? Does he even participate in SBO?
he has qualified in several but likes to team with his friends who mostly play mid/low tier characters so they struggle
YSB OCV’d Team White Cat (US team) in 2009
Yeah, YSB is pretty nasty with his Hugo. I could see him having trouble with Yun, Chun, and Ken because of their ability to score big damage of one mistake and their ability to run away but I was watching one video where he was pretty much dominating Mimora’s Makoto. Shit blew my mind that I wasn’t the only Makoto player that has difficulty with this matchup.
