EX Hayate in corner

I sifted through the old posts and didnt see anything along these lines so I hope this will help everyone and help me too. I need everyones help on this.

What are the best/only/descent options after an EX Hayate in the corner against every character? Please name resets, another hayate, or anything that you think is the best option to do in this case for every character. Oh yeah, and I know theres a few you can do easier or only on the Japanese version, but try to refrain from posting them if you can.

If this is finished dont give me credit for it. I hope writing down all the characters names was even worth it, or are there big categories of people for each option?

off the top of my head… I also included pokes if you wanted to reset someone on characters who can be juggled by hayates.

Dudley- s fwd or cr strong
Elena- jab Hayate
Hugo- s. Fp, st hayate
Ibuki- jab hayate
Ken- s fwd, cr strong
Makoto- jab hayate, cr strong
Necro- s fwd, cr strong
Oro- jab hayate
Q- jab hayate, cr strong, s fwd
Remy- jab hayate, cr strong
Ryu- st fwd, cr strong

As for only working on the japanese version i don’t know what your talking about…

you can st forward ibuki, and jab dash against oro. There’s various other stupid things that work as well, but they don’t really do much stun.

Why would you wanna hurt Ibuki? Why?

I know against the bigger characters like Alex, Urien, Dudley etc. you can s.mk and dash-in for a mixup (karakusa, c.lk->hayate, c.hk etc.), which is easier to time than forward lk or c.mp I find…

Out of curiosity, would it be possible to, say, EX hayate -> reset -> crossup kara-fukiage/kara-EX-fukiage? I’m sure this would have its practical uses

And as Ramza said their are other various things that work, especially against hugo iirc standing short, twds+jab, etc but you might need to walk forward a bit before on some

Isnt there also a 2 hit combo on Hugo you can do with c. rh as the second hit?

Another question, is there another alternative to the standing forewards such as on dudley, urien, etc? Because I only get that like 10% of the time on the
ps2 and american arcade version, but on the japanese version it seems I get it almost every try… Will c. strong punch or c. forward kick be a good alternative?

practice. I only get it like 60% of the time if i don’t practice it.

There are various things you can do after EX hayate>reset lk on Alex and Urien in particular. However they are all dependent upon the situation. Eg; Wether the character quickstands/doesn’t quickstand, stands still, jumps directly up, jumps backwards etc etc etc. Here is a 100% stun I do on Urien… keep in mind though, the Urien has to headbutt once you have reset them and crossed over them as a means of escaping a karakusa etc.

st.HP>EX Hayate>lk.reset>dash to other side>(Urien headbutts)>MP fukiage into jumping HP or HK axe kick Must be in corner against Urien

That will 100% stun Urien. Like I said though, there are various others that you can do but I will leave that up to others to play around with and find out what works in different situations.

i always wanted to try activating SA2 after a EX hayate and the juglling with it but i dont know if it will work and i dont really wanna use try it and mess up while someone :\

Of course you would have bar left after the EX, wat do u mean? And it doesnt connect free =(. If it would even I might have to say thats a bit cheap lol.

Ah sorry, I thought you said SA III. Cool idea in theory though, although I’m sure it would combo reduce a lot.

this is a confusing thread, kara command throw after a corner reset with forward LK is good as hell and its stun time against any character.

Standing FP–> SA I gives me trouble after a command throw occasionally. I dont have trouble rolling supers any other time…whats the deal??
