Venue Details

This is on the EWU campus in one of the residence life halls - you’ll need a way in. My phone number is 206 399 7868 but the person actually living there and letting people in is named Chris - his number is 509 945 5750 so call either one of us on the day of if you need a way in.

I’ll double check parking rules but any metered parking spots should be fine for Saturday without actually paying for them. I’m unsure if the lots are monitored during the weekend or not - so I’ll look into it.

There is dining on campus if you want to eat at any point at a few locations, they’ll take card or cash so no worries there.

Please clean up after yourselves if you come.

Post if you’re coming or not and let me know if you need any other information!

I’m in for marvel Gimpy. If we run SSF4 I’d enter that too. Is this gonna be on 360? I don’t think I saw it on there anywhere.

I think I’m in (for marvel). The only thing is I would have to borrow someone’s stick to play if that’s cool.

Also, will there be setups for casuals?

i’m sure somebody will have a stick to use - try to bring your own if you have them though everyone.

I believe there will be casuals set up but I’m not 100% - worst comes to worst after the tourney we head to my place (which is like a 4 minute walk from the venue) or figure out where to put some of our own setups.

I’ll talk to them again about potentially doing SSF4 or even MK9 (dunno if anyone is interested in that over here though - game looks cool) from what I heard the people who NORMALLY come to the events dont gather enough interest to host a street fighter event, but with enough "i’m in"s we’ll see.

Anyway, I’m excited for some Marvel.

If there was SF4 there I would definitely be down. I haven’t played Smash competitively in 5 years lol. I probably couldn’t short hop any more.

Going to have to see how things go because that is the Saturday before final’s week down here.

Ugh, I’m pretty done with SSB tournaments. I’ll play (even semi seriously), but never for money.

If it wasn’t obvious I’m posting this because of Marvel lol

shoot wish there was SSF4… I don’t play the other games!

doesn’t look like we’re gonna have street fighter at this event - after the tournament i can probably have people over to play some mvc3 or sf or if anyone brings it mk9 - hopefully there will be enough setups (so please bring them!) where we won’t actually need to LEAVE to play with each other after the event.

I’m not sure if I noted but I’ll be recording the top “whatever is appropriate” for all of the events.

Complains about brawl and asks for Street Fighter like everyone else :coffee:

hahahaha well brawl is pretty bad - but it’s also what the tournament series was primarily about!

Marvel is just popular man it reaches all sorts of gamers from Street Fighter to Tekken to Smash to anime fighters to insert other fighter

Wish I could show up, but I think I got too much crap to do. If this was a week later I would definitely show up.

tourney day! text or call me if you need anything - please bring setups if at all possible - call me when you arrive so i can let you in

thanks!

Hope this went good man!

Indeed it did! Had a lot of fun at this event - perfect location for future cheney events!

Ronnie - I’m very excited about the possibility of starting an EWU fighting game league. It’s going to be epic.

Here are your top 4 for Marvel - I’ll post more results later, as it stands now this is all I have - it’s late and I’m tired and so is the host who has all of the results in Tio.

  1. KoreanWhiteBoy (Magneto, Storm, Sentinel)
  2. Zerxion (Tron, Hulk, Akuma)
  3. Wingsof Integrity (Dormammu, Doom, Wesker)
  4. Gimpyfish (Cap, Hulk, Iron Man)

I can’t imagine anyone on here cares about the smash results, but I’ll probably post them later.

Top several matches of each event were recorded and will be (unfortunately fairly slowly) uploaded to youtube within the next couple of weeks. I’ll try to get on it sooner than later - but this is a VERY busy week for me.

Glad to play everyone though and saw a LOT of leveling up!

ggs all around

Matches are uploading now!

youtube.com/gimpyfish62 - subscribe to me and you’ll see them as they show up. after the marvel videos are all those smash ones i know you’ll love - so if you check my account and my latest videos are smash that means all the marvel has already been uploaded haha

We got super!

Yo guys. This is Wolt, the tournament host. Thanks to everyone who showed up to the last tournament. This time, we will now be running Super Street Fighter 4. At first I was unsure if I could get enough help with each event and have the setups to run it but now my fears have been put to rest, and it would be a pretty cool addition.

The next tournament will be on the 28th, hope to see everyone in attendance again!

Wolt, just wanted to give you a heads up, Battle for Seattle will be happening that weekend, so if your crew wants to roll out there, might be pretty epic. A lot of things going down at the event.

Thats a bit of a problem for me. I run Smash alongside Marvel and SF and I have quite a few smashers coming that weekend from out of state. I can’t say I want to up and cancel things, because this is the last time I’ll be able to host a timely event at EWU. I may be able to move my tournament up by a week, but I need to talk with some people ahead of time and see if we can get to go to Seattle that weekend.
