By the end of the month I would think. Qualifiers start soon after usually.
Why not have cvs2 as a 3 on 3 team turny that way u still get two out of three. If a person can’t find a teammate have them take on the whole team.

I want to ask if it’s possible for SSBB to have a team format i.e. crews. It’s been done before, and probably the most-done side-event at any large tournament.
Rules are simple:
X number of stocks, with X being 4 times the number of players. The average limit is 5 players per crew. Sometimes people can only get 4 on the crew so they divide it 5 stocks per person then on that team.
When you win a game and face the next opposing crew member, the player suicides until he matches the number of stocks he was left with from the last game. Continue until a team loses all their stocks.
Sometimes people register their mains so there’s no switching characters unless the opposing team chooses the stage instead of random.
The reason teams get done at smash tournaments is because smash is the only game there. Instead of team tournaments we have tournaments for different games. It’s getting to the point where there isn’t enough time to add teams unless it’s a not so big multi-day event or it’s a side event for people who only play that one game while another game’s main event is playing, like having a side game smash team tournament while an official capcom tournament is running.
I meant as an alternate format to singles.

check the evo website for dates, at least for Vegas.
if marn + other gg players not showing up is truly the reason ggac might get cut, than cvs2 players quietly and respectfully taking that D every year should guarantee its slot.
If Guilty Gear gets cut…I would assume they would try to do 2/3 everything in CVS2. CVS2 takes a while but with 2 games out of the roster there’s no reason not to go 2/3 IMO.
I think that would kinda defeat the purpose of cutting games to begin with.
Personally, I’d rather CvS2 be one game if it meant that GG would be in also, and I don’t even play GG.
I’d prefer if nothing major got cut, even though I only play one game. We’ll see how it all works out though. Things do seem just a little weird right now though. This year’s announcement seems like it’s coming a little later than usual. I’m not gonna start speculating though, because there always seems to be some sort of unexpected twist. Evo might cut Marvel just so they won’t have to deal with DC’s, who knows. Just have MM’s or the 5-on-5 that never seems to happen. They may cut ST since there’s no good port, and broke SF players don’t have sticks for PS3/360 yet to play HD. I don’t know whether I should even trust those six ?'s on the Evo page yet…
I think we should all just chill. At the end of the day, the vast majority of people are still gonna be at Evo, and if a game isn’t a main event, all it means is that there’s no crazy pot bonus (which hasn’t been announced at all yet, anyway), and most of us wouldn’t have a real shot at that cash anyway, and those who do, are very likely to have a shot at the cash in another game, so they’ll be in Vegas regardless. What’s really being lost?
I don’t mind CVS2 being one game if that’s the only way we can get it in to EVO. BTW I’m very happy about EVO being on the strip in a hotel that actually mirrors the price range that EVO players are looking for. Although it doesn’t look like the sponsors are around any more, this is definitely the best location ever and could turn out to be one of the best trips to Vegas ever.
