Evolution of Fighting Games

Welcome to the SRK, home of those who generally like the stuff you mentioned, as not making a fighter game, in a fighter game.

This thread can’t be

You may SRK from your previous save point either…

I can tell from this phrase alone that you are a douche.

In short: Someone is trolling and everyone is giving him the attention he wants including my self hypocrisy here by replying to the topic. Correct?

Lots of fail in this thread, both OP and afterwards.

I’ll be the nice guy. Or I’ll try. Playcircus, a lot of the things you mentioned in your first post are things that other games have and feature. The folks who play fighting games play them for what they are. If we wanted to play an RPG, we’d play Final Fantasy, if we wanted a beat em up, we’d play Final Fight, etc etc.

Fighting games have evolved quite a bit since SF2 hit the streets.

Also, I don’t play other people most of the time, BUT that’s what fighting games are made for. Competition. They’re meant to be played by more than one person.

If you haven’t tried it out, you should check out SOul Calibur III. It’s a great game when played by yourself but becomes something of a broken mess when you try to play it against someone else. Go figure.

Playcircus, wiser words have never been spoken. If there is a God in the heavens, I hope only that he reads SRK, and somehow places you in game design.

It’s a niche genre. Don’t fuck with it.

… Why don’t you just play a damn rpg if you want an rpg.

Have you ever even played a fighter at a decent level?

Does Pokemon count?

On a more serious note, Perfect KO has both Ken and Chun Li.

Sweet.

Yes we are…seriously.

I like how he says carbon copy. He obviously hasnt played at a competitive level in any game.

You know, it reminds me of fanboys who only play Smasis shoved away by people

the dude who made this thread is stupid

You cannot see the actual gameplay in fighting games. This is why you made a long ridiculous post. It would be nice to see fighting games that break from the norm, but none of these would be real innovation.

Go play Shenmue. There’s a reason why there isn’t another game such as you described in over a decade.

Time for this guy to make another username if he wants to post on SRK in the future

What… Soul Calibur has been pretty much the same since Soul Blade, except for the jumping height. And I’m not sure I liked that change even :shake:

Anyway, like people are saying… Seems you don’t really want to play a fighting game at all, or/and you don’t know the true nature of the fighting game gameplay.

Edit: Also, I think the fundamental problem here is that you seem to care more about single player. We care about the multiplayer here. Again, like someone said… GameFAQs might be the place you want to be.

topic poster needs to take his mindless wall of text back to where it belongs on gamefaqs

Jesus fucking christ, OP you’re fucking dumb as bricks.

There has been evolution in FGs, we wouldn’t have Guilty Gear and shit around then. 95% of the shit you posted you wanted to see has been done before, and you wonder why people aren’t making games like that? Because NO ONE LIKES THEM. There’s been experiments before, it’s been 20 years since FGs been around tons of shit have happened. Go back living under your rock. You want a RPG Fighter? Play Kwon Ho, OOPS it’s gone I wonder why.
