Evo yun vs fei edition

[FONT=Helvetica]I don’t think anybody here whining about Kindevu or Daigo, more like complaining too much Feilong and Yuns in top32 top16 in general.

Because people thought Fei and Yun would get them wins because of the perceived brokenness and then get blown up like always.

Then I don’t think there’s any point to continue discussing this issue anymore.

There’s imbalance issue. Some characters are over represented and some are under represented, as we have seen in EVO. And most importantly, capcom is looking into it.

Case closed.

Then what is this “wahhh SRK is full of whinny bitches” all about (not referencing you) ? Can’t discuss anything without insulting each other in this forum?

I … didn’t see that. More like complaining too many Hongkong fighters in top32 and it’s kind of boring, that’s it.

It’s only boring if you don’t appreciate high level play. I personally enjoyed just about every match I watched tonight.

Off topic about Lei-Lei: The differences in strength between Yun and the rest of the SSF4 AE cast compared to the difference in strength between Lei-Lei and the rest of the MvC3 cast is so different that I can’t even believe I got baited into responding to it.

To some degree yes. If you are able to use focus attack it’s easier to beat any character, it has longer reach and gives stun when it hits so I often use it as a poke. It’s always good to be able to counter small things as well. That’s more then reason enough for me not to use that character ever as a main. The standing lightning moves are something else though, high priority safe on block focus breakers. Bad range is one thing, but I don’t even need frame data to know how slow Viper’s focus attack is, when you let go to hit right away Viper does a little spin first and gets hit again before finishing while I’m able to land focus attack with any other character with enough ease, even Balrog’s focus is better.

I’d take a meterless FADC over a focus attack (be it a poke or a level 3) any day.

Is EVO evidence that Yang isn’t as top tier as people though he were? Those who had picked him like J Wong seemed to have dropped him by now.

i enjoy this year’s evo matches more than last year. last year many honda, Guile, Chun Li

no, is just mean no top yang players are here. If Nemo, Ojisan Boy, aqua were there it would be much different style. I think Fie is better than yun. I think there were 10 fei long in the top 32. Some of them are not that good.

Lol. How can Yang not be top tier? It’s really not his fault that Yun has the bandwagon. Go and study what he has and what he can do to people, and you’ll see why he’s top even if he’s not being represented.

Justin dropping Yang is not really relevant. He wouldn’t have been knocked out as easily (if at all) if he picked Yang against Ray today.

Yang is just not popular in America, is the way I see it. He’s got plenty of representatives elsewhere in the world.

Part of the reason that the top 8 and top 16 have less Fei / Yuns that expected is them eliminating each other. A lot of matches were Fei / Yun or Yun / Yun early on.

Complaints about watching are worthless to me.

Your and everyone else’s opinion about “how boring” all the “same character showing up” to “watch” should be ignored honestly.

BTW Arturo said there were 13 feilings and 8 yuns in top32. So … yeah.

Well that’s your opinion and I respect that. Good to know Capcom isn’t run by you though.

If it was, defensive oriented characters like Honda, Guile and Sim wouldn’t been nerfed so harshly.

Edit: never mind.

You don’t make it to top 32 because your character is good.

All of the people in top 8 have been busting their ass in the SF4 series for at least the past two years, and now when all their hard work has got them to the final stretch, some people want to discredit it anyway they can.

Yes Hong Kong Fighter IV has top tier characters that are noticeably ahead of everyone else, I don’t even like AE myself. But it’s obvious these guys are in top 8 by virtue of their skills, not by what characters they picked. Picking Yun or Fei isn’t gonna make the game play itself(they’re no where near Vanilla Sagat BTW), you still have to push those buttons, read your opponent, make smart decisions, manage meter, and a plethora of other things to win.

Go Krone! I want to see Poongko run a train on Daigo.

i just hope next year the point system would go away.

I do think it is a pretty colourful Top 8 there … Only 2 Yuns and 1 Fei as well… that will put some of the rebalance monsters to sleep. I am so hyped because of the awesome display of skill and tremendous amount of hard work, especially from Wolfkrone.

Anyone else think Latif has been much more solid and all around better to watch play than Wolf?

As long as Daigo or Kindevu don’t win, I’ll be able to leave the building a happy, content viewer. (Yeah, the Yun players made me that mad at their cheapness).

On a brighter note, Tokido, FlashMetroid, Latif, and Poongko all made it. I’m rooting for one of them to win. It’s gonna be awesome seeing the finals on Sunday. Hope to go in person. If not, I’ll be watching on stream. btw, how many were bummed Juicebox Juri lost? I really wanted them to go to the finals. Best Juri player I’ve ever seen, and downright awesome to watch! <D
