it may start friday afternoon, since the con ends sunday afternoon. (the schedule hasnt been worked out yet).
Yes there will be a full double elim tournament, but might have a entry cap (ie 128 people)
Free does mean free, but you will need a comic con badge to participate.
All you Riverside guys (aka people I mooch off of at Evo World every year) are welcome. Phil and Walter and whoever else you guys are coming with can stay too. After that I think I’m probably full. Maybe a couple more but it’s kind of a small place here.

Hmm, it’s in San Diego. This is too crazy. Cosplayers, fighters, and parking. It’s going to be hell. I thought it was going to be in LA but I guess not.
It was orginally announced as being in LA. In fact, it still says that on the Evo2K website.
This change is amazingly inconvenient. Not only is the hotel pre-booked, but some of us already had travel plans for LA.
no offense, but booking hotels and making travel plans before the official location of a tournament is announced isn’t the wisest thing to do. speaking from experience.
WORST POSSIBLE TIME TO BOOK EVO IN SD. All the hotels/Motels there are booked because of the comic con. I doubt this will have a big turnout aside from the cali crowd. if you were hoping to have some of the comic con types join in, they’ll be too busy waiting in superlong hourly lines at the con nearly each day.

but yeah last yeah i went to my first comicon and u can’t find parking anywhere… unless u show up before 9am… i got lucky and found parking in downtown area and had person on one of those bikes drive me to comicon… there are about over 200,000 people that go to comicon i think.
last year i waited in line to buy my comicon ticket for over an hour. so get early… book hotels now… try to get rooms near a place called Hotel circle… it’s not that far from comicon but it might still have rooms available.

for parking issues, best place that is closest is petco stadium parking lot, that has SO MUCH FUCKING PARKING, does it really run out? the walk is like only a couple of blocks so it’s pretty good
