Wow Dan…you’ve temporarily brought me out of the hiatus. I’ve bit my tongue for a long time, but with that comment, you’ve taken the locks off.

First of all…Why would you “threaten” us like that? To think that YOU of all people don’t believe in “no locked spots other then captains” is a bit confusing. You wouldn’t be locked in our team because of the fact that ONE, you don’t really represent NW, you represent Canada. Secondarily, getting a locked spot promotes you not practicing. THIRDLY, I’m going to go on a whim and say it…I don’t really believe that out of 4 people here in the northwest, you can even BEAT for the spot. If you did, more power to you, however thats what this is all about, figuring out the best in the region in order to represent.

Now I’m not trying to start shit here, however, I don’t think that you really DESERVE a set spot. No one deserves one, we have a delegated captain, and you can best believe that Cole will say the same when he reads all of this.

I understand the drive is far, but seriously, if you wanna represent, come over here and show us what you got. The fact of the matter is that your coming in here with a mindset of “You either join me or fight me.” because I can say for myself, we’re not AFRAID of you Dan. Yeah you’ve won 2 tournaments, I congradulate you for it. HOWEVER, don’t act like your some #1 dog over here that makes the plans.

I don’t deserve a set spot, Mandel doesn’t deserve a set spot, NO ONE deserves a set spot. The point is to REPRESENT for our REGION not ourselves. Whoever proves to be the best in the region will be seen in the top 5. I wish luck to you all who contend, and hope that you come strong with competition. Lets put NW on the map, and come hard…and let it be known, if you want to threat Dan with comments like “Join me or fight me.” please believe we have NO problem fighting you.

Dan my friend. I have a lot of respect for your skills. However for you to inflate your ego balloon and feel that you think u are so great that u deserve a free spot? Come on me, wake up and drink some reality juice. For one, being lazy has nothing to fuckin do with anything since the round robin tourney would be about 3 weeks before EVO. Which is months from here, so I dont care if you stayed in a cave and practiced sagat combos the entire time till the event. Its just one drive for you on one day…so get that bull out of here.

Also, I want the IDEAL candidates for this 5v5 and who is to say you are gonna have a sharp sagat 2 months from now? 2 months from now Paul lee might be smoking your sagat for all you know.

You wanna be a champion, then you shouldn’t be afriad to travel in order to improve your skills and you shouldn’t EVER be afraid to EARN your spot. Nothing is a free ride. Better be buying him some Mc Ribs if u really want that spot. If no team, then u better practice. IF u do get a team great, then be prepared to have your team get ran over like a freight Train sucka cause no way u are beating all of us =)

For a second Dan…after you won SF4 Ranbat, I could of swore you said u liked playing down here cause you didnt have much competition at home. So I THOUGHT u were tryin to form a relationship because we can all benefit from the practice…but now with these statements…man u better back up your words brotha.

dan you shouldda made it down to the last tourney not the first one. i wasnt there but looking at the top 8 and who came out to play i think you wouldn’t have been thinkin you had a guaranteed spot. if youre dope and you know you can prove it then you dont have anything to worry about but if youre lazy to drive then its just like you said. see you at evo

lol, so you say there are people who are better than me in the NW? i dont really mind coming down for a money match at the next preppy’s tourney if there is someone who can beat me, hopefully that money match can at least cover my costs of going down there.

Cole, you should’ve showed up last time i went to the first console tournament at preppy’s. it was a rather disappointing experience for me because i want to show you how much better i am using japanese sticks, instead of edging out on the win like december.

and i doubt paullee’s going to smoke me in the future at all, consider how i taught him how to use sagat, and he actually got 2nd AT your recent single’s tournament.

what do u mean i havnt done anything in the new year? i won western canadian championship, i’m now one of the best players in canada, and i have yet to be defeated.

i think i deserve on the lock spot because no one has proven they can beat me more than i can beat them. but if you want to prove me you can do it, i dont mind coming down for a money match. but whatever you say captain, i still respect your decision.

That’s news to me. Cause if you can use the excuse of not performing well on American sticks at Narrows, then a lot of people can use the excuse of not performing well on Cole’s cabinet. Also, one thing to make note of concerning this “recent single’s tournament” you make reference of, is the fact that it was round robin preceded by a small single elim tourney, with no money involved, with about 10 people total. The achievement’s not so grand now is it?

You think you deserve a locked spot on the NW team. I think I deserve reparations for being a Black male in America. It’s safe to say, that neither of which are happening.

Listen before we start up Seattle vs Canada part 2 and just shit this whole thread and other threads to pieces. Let’s just break it down like this.

Cole has already specifically said “no lock spots” (this was also established for the HDR 5v5 in regarding beasily and apoc).

So from here on out, let’s not ask for a lock spot.

Dan the competition for the Sagat spot is going to be fierce, there are up and comers around here that have picked him up as well, but I would rather see if you can actually be on the team since as I stated before it’s a UNITED STATES 5v5 exhibition, and if they aren’t going to allow the japanese to play, I don’t they’ll let you guys enter too =[.

So if we are to see you in Evo, I guess it’ll be in brackets.

Also what’s up with money matches being the only motivation to come down and play people? Maybe I’m the only one that thinks this but I think the fact that I have to up money to play someone that is better than me is a stupid fucking idea and in the end prevents ppl from getting better. Money shouldn’t be the motivation to play cause if that’s the case go talk to empire arcadia or some other professional leauge about getting some work…At least you’ll get somewhat of a steady paycheck instead of fishing around for money matches like a bum begs for money.

What it boils down to is, I think a lot of ppl are somewhat offended by the fact that you came in here demanding a spot on the team, even after Cole stated that there are no locked spots. And to be honest if someone is feeling “too lazy” for anything, I don’t want them to represent the NW no matter how good they are.

You really don’t think that what your saying is egotistical? Please Dan, you need to calm the fuck down because for you to think that we can’t beat you, your WAY out of mind. Like I said, I’m almost positive, that 4 people over (including myself) can take you out. Your talking money matches as if someone’s just gonna GIVE you the money. We respect you come down here, but we’re not gonna COVER your fee Dan…if you think your the best, get out and travel and SHOW you’re the best…You won the last 2 tournaments right? Did that not cover gas for coming down? I don’t remember EVER hearing a PDX player say this kind of shit, and from what I understand, it’s about the same distance/time amounts.

Concerning Paullee taking 2nd…its no more then a fluke. He peaced me out off of me not being able to DO shit on Cole’s cabinet. I guess he’ll have to be put on the hit list or something and need to get perfected the next time I see him so he actually knows his place. Secondarily, that was a tournament? That was 11 people over hanging out and there was NOTHING involved in that tournament. It was a practice session in order to get used to 2v2 teams and used to prepare us for becoming serious. My main point is that your holding scrubyDan Jr.'s 2nd place as something of actual VALUE? Seriously?

And your saying you took Western Canadian Champs? Dude how fierce was the competition over there if you need to THROW the 2nd round to someone Dan? I’m sorry to bring it up, but seriously, if you want to take WCC as an accomplishment, how amazing was it to have such fierce competition that you THROW MATCHES? You’ve yet to be defeated because you don’t come HERE enough. I DO remember how you got peaced out by Mandel…I also remember you and Peachy having a VERY close set…and not to toot my own horn or nothing, I wouldn’t say that your win over me was free by ANY means.

If WE are the ones to press your limits, then I don’t see a reason why you can’t come down here for “your” spot. If your so confident in your ability, then come down here and show it. I’m thinking that you’ll be quite surprised that our scene has gotten a lot stronger, and though YOU might have as well…I’d be in a way surprised if you MADE the team.

EDIT: I’d money match you, but as you know I’ve been ducking you because seriously man, I’m having financial crisis over here.

haha yea he isnt that good in sf4 in general, but why does not performing well on cole’s cabinet prevent you from winning? at least i didnt lose when i was on american stick.

anyways, i’ll stop the beef cuz there’s no point. as for the round robbin MAYBE i’ll try to come, cuz driving to edmonton gave me the creeps since it took 13 hours just to get there. i hate long drives.

Frank said it well. There are no lock spots. Arguing for one at this point is pointless and pretty rude. You should also respect the fact that a lot of people want a spot on the team, and everyone deserves a chance to play for it equally.

Since i am new to the whole scene, and there can only be one char per team. how is this done? do we each play our main or do we make small tournaments for each char and then play them against each other?

i think who ever you are trying to play you better just bring your a game. I think Cole has an idea as to what characters he wants on the team, but at the same time the round robin tournament is going to determin who would be the best candidates.

I’m sure if something came up that the top 4 in that tournament were all Sagat’s they’d have to do like a round robin for the “Sagat” spot, or even the highset placed Sagat player could take it? Cause I’m going to tell you right now, if I manage to get up there, and then find out I have to play a Bison mirror match. You might as well skip that shit and just let us play paper rock scissors for the spot, cause they are the exact same thing.

I think we can change the order of players for each match? Ultimately it’s up to the captain.
