I will forever be haunted by my awful big screen match. Ever since it happened it’s literally just been playing on repeat in my head. I could tune out the crowd with my headphones, but the whole camera-in-my-face thing was just too much pressure. I played like shit and I am so embarrassed. Can’t believe I tried to throw out ultra so much. Ugh. I can’t get over it.
Elias, I didn’t think you played that bad. He knew exactly how to work that matchup, and by all means he is a really good japanese player…they’re ahead of our level for the most part still. He placed in the top 8 man. If anything I think you could of done better by using your Guacamole Leg throw instead of Ultra as an anti-air…but I don’t think you should be embarrassed. The entire situation is just there for you to learn. What happened, happened, make sure to let it go but be a better player for it :tup:
Well, yeah I guess you’re right. I went and rewatched in on youtube and I didn’t do as bad as I thought, despite not winning a round. Ultra is something I shouldn’t even try to use on Ryu, except if I block a sweep or he’s just tossing fireballs. I was just soooo taken aback by how much he fuggin jumped that I panicked and didn’t know what to do. I should’ve EX guac’d, c.hp, air throw, or SOMETHING. But I was just so dumbfounded by someone jumping so much that it just made me panic more and more each time he jumped. Like why is he jumping so much?
The commentators were pretty annoying, hahahah.

I guess it’s made worse by the fact that I not only could’ve done better, but then my second loss was even worse. In retrospect I’m really annoyed that I picked El Fuerte again against Dubb’s gief and I should’ve countered with Seth. But I was so fucking angry that my hands were shaking and it probably didn’t matter who I picked, I just couldn’t concentrate. I’m just glad I didn’t punch him in the face and get kicked out, because it took everything I had in me to not rush him down IRL. At least we made amends. :looney:
I was seriously envying those shoes by the end of the night. Not gonna lie, I didn’t think you were gonna get all those sigs. It’s tight that Alex Valle signed it the same way I did with the sig then the SRK name under it haha. And AH MAH GAWD Daigo, fuck Empire for cockblocking the drinks. Did the weekend feel like it went by pretty fast for you guys down there?
Didn’t feel like it to me, actually things seemed to slow down as the weekend went on.
What a crazy weekend, most fun I’ve had in years for sure. Thanks to everyone who supported me this weekend especially Frank, Mandel, Nolando, and Jared. First Evo I had been to since 2003 and I definitely feel like this was the one to go to. In years past, after Evo everyone kind of took a break, but I don’t think that is gonna happen. Stay hungry, NWM coming soon and I’m already looking forward to next year’s Evo, I predict it will be even more ridiculous.

northwest getting 9th, 9th, 9th, and 13th in HDR is awesome, sorry I didn’t get 9th too for total 9th place domination
the ST 3v3 getting canceled was weak, that was about to be fucking hot
the whole weekend is a big blur to me, but one of the best things I remember is running into Trace at TGIFs double fisting two of those monster long islands, and then a couple hours later seeing him in the hotel hallway just totally fucked, that shit made my night lmao
