Evo pools and brackets and things....1040 people enter, 1 man leaves

really

Choi won ST and CVS2 last year… Just hope he doesn’t know the Abel matchup well Nick, lol

I was trying not to mention those

Munky, just play your best, and don’t get caught up in who it is you’re playing.

Munky, this is how I look at it. Think back to Devastation, sure some of the brackets were messed up but you had some top players go out in the first couple rounds, so there is still hope. You could even get a lucky win so you never know!

One round at a time, right?

Just play calm, Nick. I’ll play you with Ryu if you feel like that will be your hardest pool match and you want some practice: ]

I’m in pool 8 for SF4.

Anyway, what is going on with the 5v5? I am getting hella hyped about Evo now even though I’m sick, fly in Friday morning, and have to play like right away >_>. Who do I need to beast on to get on the team!? I’m tired of being nice! lol

Jeez dude! Gettin there Friday morning? Thats ballsy. I would have done that but I’m to freaking paranoid that my flight would get delayed or some shit. And I’m glad I’m getting there thursday cause I’m still in Pool 2 as of right now. Got Arturo and Chris Hart I guess floating around my pools

I think pool 4 has officially turned into the “GOD DAMNIT” pool

Word on the street is challenges are going on thursday in vegas…maybe an xbl game might have to be in order lol.

Good luck to all you Northwest guys going to EVO - I’ll be watching the stream to see if I can spot any of you

Enjoy the competition and in my opinion, I wouldn’t focus/freak out too much on the well-known people.

… and remember at the end of the day, it’s just a game:bgrin:

yeah believe me, i wanted to get in Thursday night but unfortunately it didn’t work out that way. :frowning:

XBL lol that’d be weird, hopefully I can arrange something Friday night. Oh, does anyone know what they’re doing for the stick situation!? I still have no idea, damn ps3. I want to start practicing on what I will be using, what is like the default stick you think people will be using? Anything close to the Hori? I love those things now.

You also have ScrubyDan in the mix, lol.

Name logan nazareth
Handle neferio

Marvel vs Capcom 2: Pool C

alright im gonna need everyone from teh entire northwest standing behind me cheering in unison.

I’m sorry neferio…lol. Good luck!

-cries-

In the Evo forum, they put my full name only, everyone has their Alias.

“Who’s Jared Schultz? He work at Subway?”

Here’s my opportunity to get famous.

EDIT: I just saw that 4 people from each pool advance. Mr Wiz said it himself. :o

Definitly wish i could of made it to evo this year, but anyways wish all the northwesters the best of luck.

Gonna try and watch the stream if I get a chance though

Thanks for the good luck wishes and all, but it’s not “just a game”.

It’s “just a game” when you’re watching the Live Stream (spectator), much like watching a sporting event (spectator) on TV.

When you’re part of an event (as a player/organizer/coach/teammate/whatever) or there’s something on the line, it’s more than “just a game”.

QFT.

Ray has a very good point, to the players it’s more than a game, this is their passion. I’m not going to lie the from the very first quarter I put into the SFIV machine @ Narrows, all the way up to my very last casual game for SFIV all the work between those two time periods is for this weekend. Let’s break it down like this:

What are you fighting for (IV)?

Besides the fact that I want to see Seattle get back on the map, and to get out of the shadow as a “Marvel Country” place. I play for a deeper cause, I play for my two brothers. Unfortunately they both got caught up in some shit and are doing time right now, but they’ve known how much I enjoy playing competitve fighters (Sean got into Marvel and CvS2 a little bit, and was playing SFIV before he got locked up, Shane dabbled with CvS2 and Tekken Tag), and they knew that once SFIV was out that I’d be playing for this, I’m playing this game for them, they would tell me that they see how much I have a passion for this and they would always wish me luck and root for me when I would go out to tournaments. Even called me while I was down in Cali for Evo 2k2, and 2k3 just to see how I did, I want to be succsessful in this tournament so that when they are finally free I can sit down and share this with them. That’s what I’m fighting for here.

Damn Frank, Damn, That was definitely deep.

But Ray is right, this is a game that isn’t a game. I mean the way I see it, if this was a game at the end of the day, Ed Ma wouldn’t have been crushed after SBO quals or the whole Mike Ross Believe thing wouldn’t have happened.

To me…EVO is region dominance. Everyone can probably agree that individuals from certain regions are great players, but which region is the best? Then you throw other countries into the mix.

This is my first EVO and I pray it won’t be my last. I am really looking forward to this years EVO

Listen the unity of the NEW Team Seattle (post SFIV) is so strong right now that this shit is beautiful man, this is what Mandel and I truly wanted to happen. We wanted SFIV to revive the Seattle scene, and while some of the older cats aren’t in it to win it like that. We got a fresh crop of players that have that drive and passion for what they love. I feel Seattle no the NORTHWEST is on some next level shit.

Someone from here is gonna upset someone in pools

Someone is gonna make it out if not more than one person.

5v5 We are gonna turn heads

This is our year.

This is our game.

THIS IS OUR TIME TO GET BACK ON THE MAP!

my hypness right now is approaching critical mass lmao.
