I wouldn’t go as far as to say that, for certain communities (Like the smash community). While I have derided the Smash community for being so pessimistic and paranoid in this situation, many members have suggested instead to use any money that they would have donated to instead go towards supporting their own established tournament (Apex), and many of them are in favor of that suggestion.
A lot of the smash talk i read over there last night was dreadful. Talk of Mr. Wizard screwing them, conspiracies, getting their money back if they didn’t win. But then the trolls were shut up by people who seemed to care quite a bit. They are even discussing running a donation drive at Apex 2013. That is smart, that is great that a bunch of them are jumping on board now. They want melee to come back, the started to remenincse about old matches between top players and how melee should get one last hurrah.
This was helped by the post by james chen telling them how well recieved they were at evo 07. Maybe a lot of them are acting like jackasses but those 10 people in those two threads wanted to make a change and they could make the paranoid, immaturity turn into hype fighters again.

Getting donations at APEX and then donating it to this EVO charity for Melee is a good idea.
cant wait for mlp to win so evo can essentially be just another gay anime convention. theres already a bunch of ugly cosplayers every year. maybe we can have anime theme song karaoke with red rapper too!!

I think you may have confused Fighting is Magic with Super Smash Ponies? I recall thinking that to an earlier post of yours:

But I forgot to reply at the time. Fighting is Magic most certainly has playable builds that they bring to conventions, and as far as I know it’s a team of devs.

On the contrary, I don’t watch My Little Pony and I thought that video was hilarious. I just think it’s dumb to reject the game outright just because it’s about ponies, much more so to spout homophobic slurs about it. If you did some research you would see the immense amount of hard work and attention to detail that is being put into the game.
