another question about the PS2 ports…
how does that work with button assignment? I’m sure the 4 face buttons will be no issue…but, im not sure how it works, what if the shoulder/R/L buttons aren’t correctly assigned?

Yes, MWC is a major.
Beats, it has manual button assignment. You press Start and All 4 face buttons, then the adapter allows you to press each button you want in this order 123

So it automatically configures to ANY controller no matter what configuration.
and yes, as Syxx said, we are a major, and one of the original 3 summer majors along with ECC (now defunct), EVO (which was original the “B” series), and us. MWC is the oldest SF major, running yearly since 1993, so it’s the 17th annual MWC tournament, and this will be the 13th one I have run.

Anyone that has PS3s with SF4 and characters unlocked and HDR built in, and wants FREE ENTRY off the COVER CHARGE and 2 TOURNAMENTS , please post here. We need a LOT of these, and I want to prepare accordingly. It’s basically $40 for bringing your PS3 for the weekend.
