The EVO facebook page is making a poll about which games would be like to see on the next EVO here http://www.facebook.com/pages/Evolution-Championship-Series/156605564382?fref=ts , I’m pretty surprised SFXT is below lots of games like mk9 and so on, I’ve already voted, the more sfxt we get in tournaments the better!
Voted a day or so ago as well.
I’m not surprised. This is a public, internet poll. And, public, internet forums are where SFxT receives the most hate.
However, if SFxT were actually on the EVO roster, people would enter it way more than most games on that poll. Especially with 2013 coming out.
That’s why, with regards to which games people will actually SHOW UP TO PLAY, this poll is almost worthless.
Yeah, mk9 for example had way less entries last evo compared to sfxt and that was when sfxt was well under a sh1t storm, also I think if this poll was done after 2013 update the numbers would change a lot

Note sure if poll is serious. Pokemon Black is a fighting game…?
Voted on the poll.
That poll has FFX on it for some reason :S
Voted on the poll. Picked the ones I definitely wanted to see and believe are relevant to the current fighting game scene.
The simple fact that Smash Bros is in the lead means that poll is a joke…
I voted for SFxT and Pokemon Black 2
It’s a facebook poll which means anyone can add anything to it.
Voted to free Jiyuna. I miss his twitch streams.
I voted pretty early on too (mostly for the small games that I’d like to see in some tournaments). KOF 13 was in the lead at first, which I thought was pretty cool. Then the SSB fanbase on Facebook found the poll and called their family and friends to vote on it too and now it leads everything by over 2,000 votes, lol. Honestly, I’m ok with it being a popular choice an even by chance getting a tournament, but I still think the 4-player battle system with stage hazards and ring out KO only makes it a better party game than a strict fighting game (party fighter?). The problem is that anything can be added, leading to things like TF2, Pokemon Black, Final Fantasy, and “Fighting Games are Dead” showing up, and MLP: Fighting is Magic, and a few others, getting added more than once to the list.
That being said, hoping for some Skullgirls, Melty Blood, KOF, MLP: Fighting is Magic, and Gundam VS in 2013! That being said, has Gundam VS ever been brought to the US for tournaments? The game is pretty awesome (like SSB, it has about 4 players a match, so things are kind of complicated), but from what little that I played at a Japanese arcade tower, it is incredibly fun and looks beautiful.
SfxT is actually losing to vanilla Brawl. :l come on guys.
I voted for SfxT and Senko no Ronde, but this poll is borderline useless.
If facebook polls decided anything important we’d all be in motorcycle gangs in a dystopian Mad Max future or something.
although it’d be kinda badass
I think it’s funny that you people not possible for smash to get 5,000 votes with competitive players, that we’d need to ask for friends and family to vote. It’s not like we can’t get 8k viewers on a stream for a melee only tournament easily. I can see about 10ish people on my friends list voted for melee to be at EVO, and ALL OF THEM attend tournaments regularly. It’s not just a ton of random scrubs off the internet who have never been to a tournament, the votes are from actual competitive players. If it was just scrubs voting, you’d see brawl on top. Melee definitely still has the following to put at least 100 good entrants at evo, and get thousands of people watching the stream. Sadly, I know the chances of it actually being there are slim to none considering how most people here think the game is a joke, even though it takes pretty much the same skillset as any traditional fighting game.
I would still be really happy with Guilty Gear or Soul Calibur V though, as I also play those games competitively.
Depends. I mean those “other” games could be on many other sites with people on it. SRK isn’t THE only forum for fighting games out there. Even if you voted Smash brothers up to the #1 spot they’re not going to put it in EVO’s main lineup.
As for SFxT, it might pick up again after the December patch. Who knows? I can’t tell. I like the game a lot and I am playing many other games as well. It’s not the end of the world.
True. I’m not really expecting a main lineup spot, maybe like a side event, but even that is not likely. I’m sure no matter what happens all the (legit/not Shaq Fu) games on that list are going to get tournaments though, so it’s not a big deal.
