Stony brook has tons of unused space. They could’ve used the space that used to hold the arcade. It’s a pretty big room.
Yeah stony brook too. But hofstra has equipped all their rooms with computers in the podiums in all their conference rooms used for events, as well as high def projectors. They also have a bunch of 35 in tvs on karts. But I was thinking that it would be hawt to run the tournament on the projectors they have. When Red Bull did that paper wings contest month ago at Hofstra they used the 50 foot projector where they displayed a previous contest winner video on a huge wall. Ill take a few pictures and upload them then- I know I can get the space because I got it before for our game convention and because I work for Resnet.
Stony brook is huge but from what Azziza told me- its hard to reserve space. I-CON gammers had to be squished in 2 rooms because of it this year 
instead of the basement that they used to get. Not too many people take summer classes at Hofstra during the summer because it’s expensive- so it’s pretty much quiet during the summer cept when the Jets come there to practice 
problem with all that is we cant sleep at the school we have to get a motel or something nearby where as in the hotel we go up and own a few floors problem resolved
I’m glad that the bitching is over. Cause I was going to point out that from the Bay area to Evo west. The options are 6-8 hour $64 gray hound ticket, 4-5 hour $60-80 car ride, Air fare $150 and I’m not going to say anything about amtrak. about 30 bucks for 4 hours on a train and you want to complain geez. Your boss is anal so fukin what if you’ve got vacation time your entitled to it as long as you give at least ten days advanced notice there should be no problem. “Wakarimashita?”
So the quals arin’t in ny so what you should have taken that into account. Just from your post I’ve already determined that you so lack of composer which is your down fall and it affects your ability to adapt to unforseen situations. That is all.

I can’t make claims without proof so I took some pictures of the Student Center complex which I could arrange for you to have access to next year since you already have a location for EVO 2K6 in CT unless that can be changed… Hofstra University is located right next to Nassau Coliseum which has a Marriot Hotel beside it. Its literally right next door to Hofstra.
In the pictures you see the rec center room- both the back and front of it which has tv?s in it already. There?s also that huge auditorium which is right above it on the next floor. There was some kind of conference going on when I took the pictures but that room could definitely work- look how many people are there. There?s also a theater in the same building right next door. All these pictures were taken in the Student Center so everything is there. In a couple of the pictures you see some shots of doors. Throughout that complex there?s a set of smaller rooms used for conferences and other events. Each room has a TV already in it as well as a projector- there’s about 20 of these rooms and there’s also TV’s available on karts- 35in ones.
There’s also the Hofstra Arena which is much larger (not shown in the pictures). You might be able to get access to it depending on how large the event is. The Hofstra Arena is mainly used for sporting events and concerts- but the room I’m thinking would be perfect for EVO is the auditorium in the Student Center, the one where you see all the round tables with people and the 50ft projector screen. You could get some of those kart tv’s in there and use that huge projector as well as get different tables for the event. In that pic they put out round tables- but you could get the long rectagular ones for the event, and maybe hook up a row of seats in the front to view championship matches on the projector screen.

Edit: Forgot to mention, It is possible to get rooms reserved in the dorms which are the towers that you see in some of the pictures- there’s other dorms that look more like houses. However there’s a Marriot Hotel less than a mile away. This is because the Nassau Coliseum is right next to Hofstra so there has to be a hotel next to it for the many events that take place there. There’s also a hofstra bus that’s free that runs from the train station back to Hofstra University. So people that would travel from Penn Station, would just take a train to the Hempstead train station and get a free bus ride straight to the campus:

Closest airport is the Weschester Airport. Unfortunately, no shuttle service is offered.
However, if you’re going to LaGuardia or JFK Airport, you can schedule a reservation for a pickup with Red Dot Transportation at 1-800-673-3368. They’ll take you to the hotel for about $52 each way. There’s also Prime Time Shuttle, which is about 2 bucks less. Both are cheaper than a cab company.

No, it’s definitely Weschester Airport… 45 minutes by car. Bradley’s 2 hours away.

Mapquest and Yahoo. And I’ve been to Weschester Airport before. We were passed Stamford before it reached the 20 minute mark.
Also, Bradley doesn’t seem to offer shuttle services from their website. Mostly limos and taxis. Taxi quotes from Bradley to Stamford are over $200 one way. Totally ridiculous prices.
Furthermore, the hotel reps say that Weschester is closer, and rates are considerably cheaper.

yeah, mapquest says evo east is 12 miles / 23 minutes from Westchester(HPN) so thats what i’ve been responding with too. I don’t see this bradley airport in the area, whats it’s airport code?

Bradley is the one in Hartford right? I dunno, I think Westchester is closer.
Bradley Airport = BDL = in much MUCH more nothern CT than the other airport. Bradley would be a bad choice, it’s almost an hour away from me and I live in New Haven (that’s already 40 minutes away from Stamford).
The other airport is a much better choice, but it sucks theres no schuttle service. Might be in your best interest to see if you can split a rental car if you’re coming with a bunch of people.
I would offer rides but 1. it’s not my tournament and 2. I’m starting a new job and I won’t get out of work until 6-7pm on Friday. And then I have people coming down from Boston and such to stay with me. So no go :wasted:
