Yeah? I understand that Genei Jin is the best super in the game, but it doesn’t mean I can apply it in a match without having real experience with it.
Think you’re missing my point.
1.) Most good online players have played offline and can acknowledge dash throw with certain characters simply wont work offline. (Example)
2.) There are plenty of good players on GGPO that fight with each other, it’s not like they are clueless to what works and doesn’t. The game is a decade old. America offline 3s don’t have some fucking magic godlike players that are learning things online players aren’t. Players like 5star/Pyro/Renic/Ryan/Vinny to name a few have simply just played the game longer then most of these guys coming from GGPO, has nothing to do with offline/online.
3.) Offline only players are pretty limited in numbers, comparing the two is pretty dumb as online is pretty much the new American 3s standard. This is only an exception if you’re living in Japan and actually have constant variety of players to play. Americas offline have about 5-10 people, 10 on a good night?
100 ping
Spectators
Ibuki only
Final Destination
Urien might be even worse… I can’t handle them teleport dashes or free tackles
Did I hear my name?
Offline players are only good offline. How’s that? Online it’s just a different game and offline 3s came first. S’what I’m saying.
To be fair, your internet is pretty terrible man, lmao. I’ve never played a laggier game then when we played.
Dat netzero, bro
I get what you’re mean Metric. I’m not saying you can’t adapt. Just if you play the majority of your games in one environment you tend to fit that environment better than the other. Overall it’s still the same game and most of it holds up in transition. It’s just how online warps the effectiveness of certain things that kind of sucks.
I like how sometimes hits register and then you are taken to a parallel 3rd strike dimension where your hit never hit and you actually are being comboed.
I also like how in that dimension urien tackles and elbows are unpunishable on block.
metric, pm me your ggpo playtimes so we can get some practice in. I have always wanted to play the best. btw, I’ll still be complaining a lot, unless I’m high. In which case I’ll be lolling a lot and doing a lot of these ;_;
A lot of people on GGPO are really shit, even the ones who try not to lag abuse will still resort to it if they start to lose. And then you have the players who don’t even know they’re lag abusing, and they think they’re doing something clever when they dash in throw to setup aegis. Or turtle waiting for you to step forward and then do a random chariot tackle. It’s not the same game, in fact it’s not even a “different” game it’s a broken game which can’t really be taken seriously even one little bit.
The wacky world of third strike GGPO.
let’s play!
Come to think of it, as far as communities go, the ssf4 community takes itself really serious while the 3s crowd adheres to a subtle wit but maintains it’s wackiness. Interesting.
I’d say Europe would beat America in a set of matches, and by Europe I mainly mean France. Although that will prob never happen, but we can speculate
Offline vs GGPO would depend on if some RL people who play GGPO would align themselves with team GGPO or not. Pure GGPO players might have a hard time against team RL…
BTW It seems playing GGPO in Europe is a million times better than USA, you guys make out like its a laggy mess. Most matches I play around 50 ping are near perfect. Unlucky for you guys I guess.
im gonna have to disagree with the 1st part of your post…
Wait, people don’t do random tackles offline? People don’t dash up throw offline? Vanao does random tatsu’s, and RX does random tackles all the time… You also see them dash up throw like every other Japanese player.
Are you just bad at the game that you can’t block, or tech?
it’s different offline, though. I really don’t understand why the dash grabs are bad outside of everyone teleporting and grabbing instead but the random tackles, if blocked, are really difficult to punish on ggpo.
Random is subjective, man. I just finished playing a few matches against some dude canabis_sativa and I gotta say, my roundhouse went out like 24662535 times. OR my input was dropped that many times. I’m not complaining, jjust stating. Maybe it’s my shitty ps2 pad.
A blocked tackle is hard to punish on GGPO? Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? What is so hard about doing c.mk, or sweep?
What’s your name on GGPO?
Wow, you must have worst Internet than me, and that’s saying something.
Offline dash throws go down after the opponent whiffs a move, but blatant random dash throws do not work offline. And show me a video where RX naked chariots without cancelling into aegis and without being punished, and I will show you a hundred videos where he doesn’t do stupid shit like that. Vanao? why even mention Vanao seriously, he’s a good player but not a good example of how to play this game safe. Most videos of him on youtube are of him losing ffs -_-.
GGPO 3S is not that good, ponder will tell you this himself. After the last update some people even choose superarcade over GGPO and SA has at least three to four frames of input delay. Many missed frames on GGPO, and loads of other stupid shit. This might sound like a QQ post but it’s just the reality of playing this game on GGPO. Hopefully of course 3SOe should be better.

There you go genius: not everyone plays the same!
Wait, so a random tackle into an aegis is not a random tackle? It’s not even in a combo, he just does it to cancel it, but sometimes he doesn’t.
:30 seconds in
:38 seconds in, and throw in some random ex headbutts 1:08 seconds in
And here’s two dash in throws:
:25 seconds in
:32 seconds in
The misconception that you play different online to offline is just dumb. Are you playing someone with over 100+ ping? People who win tournaments, and play on grand stages like Tome play on GGPO. What’s next, jumping in doesn’t work offline? Maybe I should post videos of Chinta, and Deshiken doing random shoryukens because they surely don’t work offline!
