I don’t know who the best US Gouki is currently but it may be JR. At one time there were a few great Gouki’s with Lavaheart, Therapist and Hsien Chang but they don’t seem to play anymore.
Anyway I’m sure you will get to play him at Evo, you probably just won’t get an “official” response to this thread.

I wanted to play him for the past 3 years at Evo. From what I’m told, he doesn’t want to play because he will lose. He wont play vs people he knows he will lose to. See nica ko’s post earlier.

People accepting every money match they are challenged to doesn’t make much sense either. Simply put, just because you ask for a MM doesn’t mean you get one.

Now, ryan, I know you want to do this at Hooters hotel because it’s the grimiest place to play (perfect for our small little band of misfits) but then again, knowing that most of the money matchers wouldn’t want to travel beyond the venue, if I had a room at LVH, would you want to hold it there? I still have my CRT and I’m pretty sure we’d get even more matches there.
I don’t buy it. I have played JR at evo and he even posted videos of us playing. One of those videos you can clearly see that I had some huge win streak on him and his friend.
He didn’t dodge me so why would he be dodging these people you talk about? People have no obligation to accept every challenge that comes their way and I think for JR he is probably past the point of proving himself to every internet challenge he comes across.
I respect that ryan has issued a challenge, but if it isn’t accepted you call it a day and move along. Nobody who understands 3s will change their perception of ryan’s skill level based on winning/losing against JR. So what does it matter?
