hey this will be my first year at evo and ive never been in a tournament before. my flight gets to vegas at like 11 am or something on that friday the 6th when the tournament starts. i really wana enter the umvc3 tournament will i be too late or should i go ahead and register?? how can i get more info on this?
Here’s the place to register. You can’t register at the gate, unfortunately, so get it done now rather than later.
I know that thats not my question, what if i register and the tournament starts at like 10am on that friday and im still on my way there on the plane and i get DQd or something?
That’s the risk there…which is why I usually plan to arrive the day before Evo.
Pool assignments and schedule are usually not revealed until registration is closed.
but it won’t be a problem if it doesnt start until like 1pm on friday or something but if it starts super early i dont wana waste my money im fine with just spectating but i dont want to risk wasting the entry fee. but i havent seen anything like that anywhere that says stuff like “first match of game X starts at time Y”
If you don’t want to risk being DQ’ed because of your flight time…simply don’t enter.
Or you can risk it, and hope that your pool does not start at 11am…and that you are NOT the first one up.
Again, none of us will see the pool assignments/schedule until registration is closed…which would probably be in late June.
If you already got your flight bought…I don’t know what to say.
well the registration fee for umvc was like 10 dollars right?? plus i think i saw some 50 dollar fee somewhere but im not sure the total cost to just sign up for one tournament
If you sign up between now and May 1st…you’ll pay a total of $60.
Which means the venue fee is $50 + $10 each tournament fee you enter.
well thats not so bad you think i should risk it? i guess its a gamble (vegas refrence)
Up to you really.
You pay…you risk getting get DQ’ed…you still get a badge and Evo shirt.
Spectate…you don’t get to play in the main games, but free to play in the BYOC.
yeah im gona do it now i just gatta get a wired ps3 controller…
I love gaming - playing since Pong - ha! Spend most of my time killing zombies but was quite the Tekken master in my day.
I read about the Brazzers controversy and had a good idea and I’d like to talk to someone about being sponsored.
My client is nationally recognized expert in his field, appeared on Anderson Cooper, best selling author, race car driver, super cool guy, debated porn star Nina Hartley, and a former sex addict, now the director of Compulsion Solutions. Here is a recent video where he talks about a client “yelling in a porn shop, I hate this shit.”

This will be national news, bring some positive national attention to the sport, and it can be done is a very cool way that isn’t preachy, judgemental or well, preachy. It’s a perfect demographic because a kids first exposure to hardcore porn online on average is 11, the 18-25 age group is reportedly the fasted growing segment of people who are reaching out for help to control their porn habit.
Who should I talk to? Who wants national attention? Are there any gamers you know that might be interested?
FYI - I’m also an attorney and we could put some amazing engaging stuff with the gamers for some PSA’s to address the sexual harassment issues I’ve read about. Sex harassment is bad for business and curtails investment, bad press etc . . . another opportunity that can be done in a very cool way.
