I assume they’ll try to bring in Justin, Tokido, Gootecks, etc to capture the interest of SF4 fans. I think JR Rodriguez is very plausible (character variety, excitement factor, past Evo results). We’ve heard that some top arcade players were consulted during the development of OE, so hopefully we’ll get Pyro and 5 Star.
Dunno about that. I dont think we get together enough. i’ve never met a 3S player who cared about sponsors and other front page shit like that since i’ve been playing
Anyway this being a 5 man thing is kinda wack but oh well. hopefully theyll have a good number of OE stations to rock on.
I like the way this man thinks!! I’ve felt this way for a while. At this point if 3s ever returned to Evo, you’re still gonna be looking at hella early finals, hella early pools, and just not the most pleasant 3s tournament in general. I don’t mean to brag, but one of the things I really loved about Sunroute Cup was that we had a room full of people that only cared about 3s. They weren’t going back and forth between different games, and it gave us more flexibility with running the tournament. Really had a great vibe, and I’d love another major event like that that is all about 3s. And it would be nice to have something to practice for.
Theres a community center near me that I always wanted to run a 3s only tournament at.
I always worried though because I needed cabs… now with 3sOE that won’t really be an issue. Right?
I just need to start mowing more lawns and try to save up, see if the space and the costs will work. Or someone else could do it. I wouldn’t mind a big 3s major being in the east coast for a change…

I’m gonna start running 3s tourneys at my local Lan center every friday if Neoempire doesnt start running tournaments for the game. The money will come out of my own pocket but I dont care.
I might consider starting 3s-centric tournaments if I had SoCal help I’d love to get the scene another chance. I’d even call people to make sure they were going to show up. It’d be everything friendly and unwarranted shit talk would get your neck bone disconnected by my bouncer Blackjuan.

I am assuming Justin and Daygo will be in. I will be very surprised if they aren’t. Next tier would be Tokido and Gootecks. Chris G is possible as well. At least Chris G and Gootecks aren’t playing Chun or Ken T_T. Momochi would be good obviously. I’d like to see Ryan get a spot. A low tier player who still plays, like ThyAllMighty would be great. If they want someone from east coast, there’s Mutant XP, Nica KO, Flare, Devil Jin. There’s also Yuuki and folks like that. And obviously Pyro and the like. I can’t even think of a line up of 5 people that would be that good to watch, really.
Evo is either going to just take top SFIV/MvC3 players who used to play and throw them in together, or try to make it look interesting by considering power-level of the players/characters, and leave out Justin and Daigo all together so the players interested in 3so get to see cool stuff like Necro vs Urien.
Edit:: Really they should just have Dander, Denjizz, 2nasty, Aku, and Keninblack.

I just hope we only have 1 chun. The less people bitch about 3s right before the potential new wave the better.
And tbh, we have to many awesome and skillful players who use a wide variety of characters. There should be not reason to have 2-3 chuns and the other being top 5. 3s in the past year or so has been so much more diverse then that imo.
