Actually, mystery game should be Ghosts 'n Goblins (arcade version). Whomever gets the farthest without continues (or maybe you get 3 continues) wins.
Are there really any up-and-coming fighting games that will be released before Evo that we don’t already know about? I doubt it. It would be a heck of a way for a company to announce their title, but I really doubt it.
Evo is just too professional to include a “novelty” game that everyone remembers fondly but has since become competitively broken. Similarly, there’s no way that they would run an older game that is considered by the majority of a playerbase to have been obsoleted by a newer version. They are not going to go back to using busted-ass Dreamcasts, either, so don’t even say Super Nintendo.
They have, however, dabbled in the past with the idea of including a non-fighter in the lineup. Here are some strong possibilities:
- Pokmon DS
- A Top Secret David Sirlin Project
- Texas hold 'em poker

A. I see Evo as a “pro” tournament filled with respected and top level players…and lets be honest Camyrandom2654 is more of a casual player that tries to understand a community he has no idea about.
B. Last year I was too passive aggressive to do anything about those jackasses that took half the TV’s with 4 to a TV leaving everyone else to have massive lines for anything but SF4.
C. Gamers are known at times for smell. If I could pick one gamer to blame…it’s be Camyrandom2654.
