Any guesses as to the game that we wouldnât see coming? I think it will be Tatsunoko vs Capcom just because EVO probably would like to throw Capcom a bone and see if it canât help jumpstart a community for it.
Way too obvious imo. A game that we (as fighting gamers) wouldnât see coming is an FPS or the rebirth of Mario Kart DS. Shit, Evo did it once.
Iâm pretty sure Evolution is a fighting game tournament. Theyâve tried that before, and it didnât work. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
The angle I want to take is that Evo is going to feature a fighting game that doesnât exist yet â at least, a home port thereof. Something like a PS3/X360 release of VF5:R (it would also continue the tradition of âhay letâs run a VF tournament nobody entersâ that they do every three years), or MB:AA on PSN/XBLA (it would be one hell of a way to launch a download-only release).

I wonder how Evos stance would be on âpseudo fightersâ like GvG Next or Senko no Ronde Duo.

I think Melty Blood,TvC, and Super Smash Brother Melee would be good additions to the EVO line-up.
MeltyBlood: Has a small community but they have players and pretty decent size gatherings all over the US. If at EVO there would be atleast 120 people sign up i know thats not alot, but thats better than blazblue did last year.
TvC: I think the game will grow and people will play. Sadly thats all i have to go by at this moment.
SSBM: Was in EVO a few years back. SSBM just had a huge National Tournament where players from all over the world came and played. PLayer from Europe,Canada,puerto rico, and South America. They had 350 people sign up and play the game so you know the game has life.

But thereâs some bad blood between the Smash people and SRK/Evo. Letâs not go there.

Yeah Iâd REALLY like to not see SSBB show up.
A. I see Evo as a âproâ tournament filled with respected and top notch fightersâŚand lets be honest SSBB is more of a casuals game that wii/cube owners desperately tried to make competitive by ripping out all the fun things in the game and still wound up with fucked up balanced.
B. Last year those jackasses took half the TVâs with 4 to a TV leaving everyone else to have massive lines for anything but SF4.
C. Gamers are known at times for smell. If I could pick one gaming group to blameâŚitâs this one. I will not be afraid to hose people down this year.
Hope the mystery game is a fighter, if they go FPS and I see that unbalanced disaster MW2 pop up Iâm gonna eat my hat. I donât own a hatâŚdonât make me buy a hat.

If a Guitar Hero gets picked I will kill myself and haunt the Evo staff for eternity. As much as I love rhythm games, a game where all you have to do is memorize a pattern and execute it is NOT competitive IMO.
