Evo 2010 Game Announced Live on SRK Podcast @ 7PM PST!

sc4 finals were only good for talking shit

sc4:

i agree about its international appeal. i saw more international play/representation/ hype for that game than any other game other than sf4 (arguably)

although, the only reason the finals were “hype” was because no one wanted to see a bitch ass hilda player win.

Just make it SF4/T6/ST/BB2 (if that shit gets fixed) and give us BYOC space, and maybe big screen time for BIG side tournaments.

Blazblue seems to be doing just fine here in the midwest, and as far as locals where I live, we get more players for it than SF4 most of the time. Obviously situations differ in different areas, but I think there would be plenty of players around for it for Evo next year.

Well lucky you. Like OP said, BlazBlue is all but dead on the east coast.

Which honestly isn’t that bad because I see a lot of the anime fighter fans playing GG again. Which is awesome.

You’re entitled to your opinion.

But it’s a bad opinion. I hope you’re not in charge of anything important. :arazz:

EDIT: Frank West TvC gameplay video has over 130,000 views and counting.

Yeah I think we’re coming to a point where we’ve realized that SFIV brought a lot of new people into the SF competitive community. With that happening the other new games coming out that are part of the fighting game renaissance are just going to get overlooked competitively. The next Evo will be a pretty SFIV and Tekken 6 centered event that’s for sure. If next year’s Evo was SSFIV only it would still do incredibly well. That on top of Tekken 6 and the other games just won’t matter.

Ono created a new crack for the fighting game scene. The only other game that’s going to rival SSFIV’s numbers is Tekken 6. Tekken 6 will be the 2nd crack and that game will sell like hotcakes and have tourneys all over the place as well. Tekken Zaibatsu is going to get a lot of new members.

I was part of the TvC community when it dropped on the Wii, I even went as far as to make a thread on my main.

You can go ahead and call it opinion, but good luck getting people to actually mod their sticks to work on a Wii, let along getting a Wii stick at all.

Game’s not going to anywhere, and you’re being delusional.

I’ll still play it when it comes out again, but I know damn well it’ll be hype for three weeks and fade away like every other flavor of the month.

again people, ST and 3s are done

ST because hd remix did very well this year + no more dreamcasts. hdr classic mode apparently has issues as well.

3s because it’s old and the opposite of hype and it’s on PS2. seriously, i am betting you will only see next-gen consoles for official games from here on out.

and master chibi is too right about the wii. hey, i played a fair bit of tvc at evo and enjoyed it and am interested in the US release…but it’s not enough to make me pay for a console that has nothing else i care about. not to mention the stick issues!

idlemind, i’ve been thinking for awhile that sc4 has a better case for staying than a lot of these other games being mentioned. but let’s face it, you’re behind marvel (assuming marvel gets patched), and maybe even tvc depending on tournament #'s and how much influence capcom sponsorship has. i think you can pull it off, but you’d need to make a really big push.

Yes because watching it on YouTube automatically means you’re going to buy it.

Even if TvC sold 130k, that would be seen as a modest success in sales at best. Hell, even KOFXII sold close to that.

What stick problem? If you have a PS2 stick all you need is that Mayflash converter and you’re good to go. Shouldn’t cost anymore than $12.

I am one of few people in the US that is still a very active TvC player and I know that the game’s had it pretty rough in the US over the past year. Getting new players to join and have them stay in the community hasn’t been very easy, but I never gave up the game because I still like it very much.

I still have high hopes for the US release. Sure, it may be a bit too early to see if TvC: UAS really will take off in the U.S., but people just need to give the game a chance before they shit all over it.

I’m not shitting on the game, just stating per usual what’s going to happen.

And even if it’s a converter, it’s getting people to give a shit in the first place for it that’s the issue.

u do no only bc bb is dead on the east coast doesnt mean its dead in the u.s. i hear its doing pretty damn well in west coastt also. fuck it bring back sfa2

Great, so now there’s 2/3 of a community going on.

Go fix it~

less than that even

midwest is uneven, like in STL & chicago it’s doing fine i think but tenkai crew doesn’t care a whole lot for it

same with the south. seems to be surviving in atlanta but not so much elsewhere

and the whole area between texas and cali is a dead zone iirc

royalflush: that’s a very good point but the real problem is getting people to buy wiis in the first place.

yeah, I’m not getting a wii for 1 game. its emulation is spotty at best so people who don’t own wiis can’t even try it out in a stable setting via emulation either.

WUT. Converter costs 12$. Actual stick costs 40$. That’s ludicrously cheap, and you can STILL play it on a Gamecube controller.

It’s attitudes like this that kill games, not lack of cash. Of course it’ll flop if you slap your negative opinion around like a dead trout.

See above. Basically you’re too lazy to invest time and effort into getting other people interested in the game. That’s not my problem. Also “flavor of the month”, lol. This game is not that new or old.

Sounds elitist.

Who do you think causes other people to give a shit about any game? A reasonable base of people who praise it and play it, online and off.

And I am sure that getting a 80+ dollar stick for 360 sure turned off all those Blazblue, SF4, and KOF players from buying and playing the game.

These excuses are lame. Adding up the negative reputation, it’s like I am debating with someone who always gets what they want.

lol ok

Way to take two posts to reply to that.

You’re free to feel however you want, and believe that I didn’t do anything or that I don’t care or whatever else supports your argument.

Have fun waiting~

most of the people who would play TvC already have, either at the arcade, emulation or importing it. But tournaments can only be done (less your in cali) on console. So you’re going to get the same people that played it before. Maybe more, maybe less depending on the number of people that were turned off by the game originally is less than the number of people who would be willing to give it a try once its out locally on the wii.

That said most of the competitive community here does not have a wii. So I sincerely doubt that it’ll get as large of a player base as SF4, BB, or even HDR when it comes out, simply because most of the people who would have given it a chance simply don’t have a wii and aren’t willing to purchase a system for just 1 game. They might as well just go out and buy the arcade board. Which probably isn’t going to happen either. Now if TvC was released on the PS3 or 360 then it’d have a decent chance around here to really break out.
