Evo 2010 Game Announced Live on SRK Podcast @ 7PM PST!

Explain the announcer, then.

WTF is with ur SC hate.
You’re not IN the community and You know NOTHING about the community.
Like its been said before…GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT before you crying about shit you know NOTHING about.

Explain the announcer, then.

EDIT:
I’m not going to say anything else on the matter because as right as I am, it wasn’t exactly smart of me to start a shitstorm in the middle of a thread. This isn’t the “why the Soulcalibur community should be ashamed of themselves” thread, and I’m sorry I even said anything. This wasn’t the thread to do it.

I dunno, I wouldn’t mind seeing SC4 back… though admittedly I haven’t paid attention to the game since Evo. Did they “fix” Hilde? If not, fuck yeah, bring it back. That final was one of the best moments of Evo simply to listen to all the people in the audience bitch and moan so loud you’d mistake 'em for Smash players. Go Cier, make it nasty!

The live announcer? I think that was Jaha. He was just trying to make the room hype. I honestly don’t know what the big deal is. If you don’t like the game, just say it.

They should bring CVS2 back in action! Or some Alpha3

I wish…

Alpha 3 might be refreshing to see after not seeing it in forever for some people.

Sadly it wont happen though.

sounds like the smash community to me :coffee:

Uh oh, thems fightin’ words! Watch out!

Even though it hasn’t been confirmed what will be in the tourney lineup at Evo 2010–its sort of obvious that SSF4, MVC2, T6, and HDR would be shoe-ins due to anticipation of release, and popularity.

In terms of other games–despite what some of us veterans may or may not want, its more than obvious that Evo is moving in a direction to attract more entrants and overall interest in the event by casual gamers. Being an avid fan of the scene of old, while this might suck its an inevitability in the “Evolution” of the fighting game community. That means things like the following won’t happen:

-Alpha 2/Alpha 3
-CVS2
-Any import fighting game despite popularity
-Any games that are on outdated consoles

Evo is moving toward whats more accessible and well-known from a casual perspective.

I love CVS2, Blazblue (sans Nu), Alpha 2 , and 3s but I know these titles won’t come back.

I don’t consider myself a good judge of that game. I’m just pissed that it isn’t Soulcalibur II. Fuck, I miss Soulcalibur II. That game was so awesome.

I’d like to know this too.

I mean it was probably just about as disrespectful as the people who went out getting tits in their faces or were playing casuals in the hotel room while shit was going down. You only get 3 days to be there and some people were just trying to make the most of it. I mean they had the console version of Tekken 6 available to play on huge ass screens. The fact that they didn’t put the consoles away for the finals means someone is inevitably going to take advantage of the fact that they get to play Bloodline Rebellion 2 months before the game’s actual release. That’s just too tempting.

But that’s the thing, they weren’t playing Tekken 6, they were playing SCIV. The consoles for all the LocTests and all were put away, BYOC was shut down, and yet they brought over a setup, hooked it up to one of the T6 monitors, and started playing casuals. At the very least they could’ve done it in someone’s room, like everyone else, but they just straight up didn’t give a fuck.

I can see how that could be annoying I guess but I don’t think its such a big deal. It didn’t seem to take away from SF4.

dbz:raging blast LOL

lol at people shitting on BB. Yeah the game had some imbalanced shit, and even I don’t play it much anymore, but goddamn it’s still fun as hell, to play and watch. I’m hyped as hell for CS, as long as it’s balanced. I even know a few GG heads who despised CT who say they’ll play some CS, it’ll be a big 3 with SF and Tekken, easy.

also, I don’t know a thing about melty blood but it looked pretty fly at NEC, wouldn’t mind giving it a try.

as for SC4, I looooved that game for the first 6 months or so it was out, then it just got boring. It can still be hype as hell though, as people saw at EVO. What namco needs to do is release Broken destiny on psn a la DR, or even on disc, with some new stages and balance tweaks. It could do no wrong.

I went to Evo literally only for Tekken 6, I spent all my time there, and Namco still had the T6 setups running during the Marvel finals. No one was playing SC IV on a T6 monitor then. During the HD Remix finals they were shut off and no one was playing them. During the SF IV finals some dudes were playing T5DR. I do not recall anyone ever playing SC IV on those setups.

I see:

SSF4
Tekken 6
HDR
Marvel
TVC
3rd strike 3v3

I think Evo really owe it to Capcom to put TVC in the lineup at least for one year. Capcom is taking a risk releasing a pretty obscure and not very popular game in the west. The excuse about no one having a Wii doesn’t really hold up. Alot of gamers have gotten into the competitive fighting game scene because of SF4, and most real gamers seem to own or have access to a Wii along with an XBOX 360 and/or PS3. It would be a good way to create hype for the game, and should be given a chance just like a lot of the newer fighters were at Evo 2009.

My reason for having 3rd Strike 3v3 is because the game is still fucking brilliant. You only have to look at the match vids in the 3rd strike section to see that this game is well and truely alive. So many tournaments are being run in Japan at the moment with big players and some are even being streamed. The key to keeping 3s alive though, is through the use of the other characters in the game. Basically what has killed USA 3rd strike is Chun and Yun(Ken is still an interesting character) and the way they are played. With a 3v3 there is alot more character diversity. If we can see say a Necro,Q,Ken team vs Dudley,Ryu,Makoto team in the grand finals, no doubt it will be a lot of fun.
