The thing with 3S is, is that the thing I was always hearing about it, is how much variety it had; how you could win with anyone. From the looks of it though, it seems to be the least balanced game of them all. Marvel, CvS2 there’s top tier whoring sure, but not to that extent.

Does anyone know how the placers got their loot for winning? Were they given cash? Checks? If cash, I know a lot of cats had their heads on a swivel. I don’t see how checks could have done the Japanese players any good?

There were some money matches that took place with Yakoon & Nuki vs. Pyro & Amir…then Ed & Watson went up against Yakoon & Nuki…I think King Raoh recorded that too?..Im not sure how much Ed & Watson played for, but Amir told me that he put up $5 with Pyro for their money match

A tournament is a tournament and excellence is what we find in ourselves. Respect the game and the masters who play them in tournament. That statement was to the guy who said who cares.
Issei is Japanese living in America. Who, What or Where does he rep? is another question altogether. 
Issei only recently came down here. He’s going to a college in NYC. His english is pretty damn good but he’s more representative of the Japanese players then us, for sure. He has been fighting with Nitto/Mester for bragging rights as to who is the #2 Yun in japan for a while now (dependent on how you look at things, that is.)

Which top in CvS2 where you don’t see a Sagat, Blanka, Sakura or Bison? Or MvC2 where you do not see a Big 4 member within that team? 3S is no different, and seriously, when MvC2 was the most popular, you had the same complaints going around “It’s nothing but the Big 4, so boring, etc”.
In Japan, there are players who have competed well with Non-Top Tier characters, and since in the US, 3S has only begun to become popular, I believe it will only be a matter of time, before the top 8 looks alittle bit more diverse. Now I’m not saying that you’ll be seeing Q’s, Necro’s etc up there, but I’m sure when the US players start to play other characters like Yang, Gouki, Makoto etc more effectively, you’ll start to see more diversity instead of Yun, Yun, Chun, Chun and a Ken here and there.
This Evolution 2006 sounded to be the greatest ever! I love the radio, and I’m so glad and happy that even though I was not there, I was able to be a part of it in a small sense. Oh yes, after what took place at Evo2k6 and if people keep on telling me that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is dead, they deserve to burn and die a 100 deaths.
