How would you guys rate Evil Ryu on execution 1-10 and fundamentals? compared to the rest of the cast
I would say like… a 4. He’s pretty easy unless you go for the really dumb link combos for flash. His standing hit confirms do a ton of damage and are easy to do.
eh… idk. He’s got some fun links but you don’t NEED to learn them. Like c.mp, sc.hp. Aside from that you kinda need to learn ax kick, c.mp. But it’s really not THAT difficult, not for anyone who’s lurking on these boards anyways. Other then that, just basic FADC stuff like srk FADC ultra or fireball FADC into another combo.
He’s pretty easy, imo. Even all his links. Only thing I’ve had trouble with so far is c.mk xx fireball fadc, c.mk xx hk tatsu. Even that, I was starting to hit half the time in training mode today.
he’s definitely on the simpler side of execution but the extremly low health means 1 fuck up really hurts.
the same applies to his fundamentals. he has all of the tools but, you have to play super smart because you basically can’t get hit.
Yes I did this several times in practice too, I didn’t knew Heavy kicks could cross up
We have frame data for Oni now, I’ve noticed. But still none for Evil Ryu?

After a forward throw on whiff a HK and then jump HK, it will cross them up or hit them in the front depends on your timing

the short cut for it?
lp, lp, then push forward and lk and hp all at the same time. You can buffer the lp’s into another move.
it’s an akuma tutorial, but I’m pretty sure all the rules apply to e.ryu’s super.
There isn’t much of a shortcut for a demon super. Just lp, lp, forward, lk+hp. If you want to kara cancel, you press the attack you want to cancel along with lp. F+mk+lp, lp, down forward, lk+hp. In this case, since you’re holding forward, you need to move to down forward as your forward input. It still counts. Just make sure you switch directions after the lp, but before lk+hp. Only part that needs to be precise, really.
I’m wondering which Ultra you guys prefer. I’ve been using Ultra II since it hurts SO bad and looks awesome, but I’m considering switching back to Ultra I because I find I can actually land it more reliably. Thoughts? Match-ups where one is preferred to the other? Just trying to get some discussion going about this.
man, I hope this character gets buffed, doesn’t even compare to gouki sigh its like capcom doesn’t even want us to use him.
I just read in the Oni thread [Oni frame data thread] where someone has official frame data on both Oni and Evil Ryu. Anyone else got this official guide in this part of the woods?
I like U2 vs Akuma, Gouken, Ibuki, Seth, Yun, Yang, T. Hawk, Adon, Chun-Li
[INDENT=1]I use Ultra 2 usually too. unless playing against really high level people, it’s a good damage punish against mistake, plus you can still combo it like ultra 1 for slightly less damage. I suppose that against high skill player, you’ll never be able to punish, thus you need full combo damage & ultra 1.[/INDENT]

And I think THE COMBO is close s.hp xx mk axe kick -> c.mp xx lk tatsu -> hp srk (or lp srk -> hp srk while in corner).
What? 850/850 is pretty good opposed to what?
It’s the lowest Stun/Health in SSF4 AE
And why does anyone do lp srk hp srk in the corner, anyways? I tested it out, it just makes the same amount of damage. Which with the extra hit means it does LESS damage with scaling.
Also, does anyone else do c.lp instead of c.mp for the link? I find it to be miles easier, even with c.mp being plinked, I don’t know why.
