When Dagger G was here for SBO quals we played some Remy mirror matches…they were quite interesting, but ANNOYING as fuck. =(
I haven’t really been playing anymore…although I did go to my local arcade with one quarter a while ago and got a 10 win streak then left.
I’ll let you know when I’m around that area…but it’s really rare nowadays.

I just want to emphasize that there are many different way to play Remy. I for one cannot stand the stay back throwing LOVs thing…but I have to admit during a tourney I played an aggressive Dudley that I knew would kick my ass if I played like I usually do. I felt like a freaking jerk, but I stayed back throwing LOVs and dashing in at the exact right time to cr. lk xx SA2 or cr lk. RRF, then would dash back and continue the LOV attack.
It was 2 out of 3 and each round lasted until almost the clock ran out, but if I made one mistake, 1/3 of my life would be gone…it was insane. I did end up winning after probably the longest matches I’ve ever had a tournament, and the player I played looked pissed afterwards…but hey, it was tourney and you have to do what you have to do to win.
Anyways, the reason I bring this up is that I saw this video today, not sure if it has been posted, but I’m sure it has. It’s RX vs Pierrot, and Pierrot LOVs the shit out of RX. What I loved the most were the YouTube comments…some people don’t know wtf they are talking about.

I commented on that vid. I couldn’t believe people were dissing the way Pierrot played the match.
Definitely don’t feel bad playing the way you did against a good Dud. Imo, if Remy plays his zone game to perfection in that matchup, he’s got the win. If Dud gets in once or twice, Dud wins. One lucky guess from the Dud player, and Remy is in trouble. But if the Remy is patient and executes well, Dud can’t do shit. It’s much like a lot of matches Remy has (Alex, Hugo, Ryu, Q). People just get pissed because Remy can’t play the same game most of the cast can (especially the most used characters, like Ken and Dud). I know I’m probably preaching to the choir, but I find I still have to remind myself not to feel bad from time to time.
Damn that first match with Pierrot was great. Remy FTMFW!
I should play more keep-away since I win more when I play that way but usually I’m to impatient and starts rushing. but in tournaments I’m usually patient enough.

I just realized that it was a 2/3 Team Match…I found the other set of matches:

It was supposed to be a fierce sonic boom, but I wasnt used to the sticks.

Anyway, I know Dagger-G cries every time someone posts that qualifier footage. Too bad the only footage available are the ones where he gets beasted – except that one match vs. Shitty Urien on his youtube page. Toooo sexy.

How bout you guys tape some Hawaiian tourney matches so we can view the greatness that is kyle. Then again he’s playing 5 star in these, which is probably a little better to watch than him playing random niggas. Then again I don’t know.
kyle is a good remy player, he knows more about remy then most people on these boards.

I know my post came off as facetious, but it wasn’t supposed to be. I played kyle about a month ago when we had mirror matches, and saw him kick edma’s ass a few times. I did mean greatness for real, not sarcastically. I also played with him last SBO qual about a year ago, when I jokingly said wouldn’t that suck if you play Pyro first match? and you know…he played Pyro first match. =\

What do you guys think about posting up character specific matchups for remy. I think it would help improve our game somewhat. I’m probally sure that if you were to do a search you would probally be able to come up with some stuff. But we all know that over time people find new things that seem to work good, that no1 has thought of before. I don’t know its just an idea to try and rekindle this thread.
