its just a way to kill them if they r in the instant death ST mode (when your health bar is greyed a little thats when your officially in ST mode) sure they can parry everything but thats when its your job to throw off there parries… its a game! if u know all they want to do is parry and u know if they dont parry they get hit they have eliminated the option to block the lov’s because of sheer pride/cockiness. this gives u an opportunity to make them come forward by…
filling there meter cus they parried enough (but they still would’ve got hit by a couple)
they got hit by 2-3 lov’s and now they r behind on life because u stalled 15 seconds on throwing stuff (getting your meter up).
if u actively decide which lov’s to throw prior to the one your throwing immediately u can score a couple hits.
jab lov combos into forward or roundhouse lov or ex lov, short lov combos into strong/fierce lov, ex lov.
if u mess them up once u can get them into a 2-3 hit lov combo if u have an ex lov toss after the lov toss u used to trip them up. they miss the first parry they get hit by all 3-4.
just be creative, to not use rapid fire just limits u… gotta use it with everything else because its what remy can do that other characters really cant.
I’ll agree it adds to Remy’s full screen game. The only time I’ve found Rapid Fire useful was for luring opponents towards me. What you seem to be describing is an opponent that stays put for whatever reason.
The most common response I’ve gotten to Rapid Fire is jumping forward, while parrying. This eliminates many low LoVs (and some high ones), and all they have to do is push forward before one touches them, even when varrying the LoVs and using EXs. The only time I got them was when they finally got to my face, where I could do all sorts of things to them. EX RRF them as they jump in, EX LoV them out of the air or just throw them (neutral throw).
Not especially worth the effort, but if you’re drawing out the match, good enough.
When u knock someone down from a throw, get close to them and do this chain:
If they dont roll- lp, lk, mk; if they do roll take out the lp. the lp and lk have to be done quick enough that the mk can linger long enough to catch them on wake up.
its betting that they mistake the mk for another lk in a null set of wake up poke chains.
If the mk hits, free SA2. If it doesnt hit do the 2qcf motions anyways, and if u catch them slipping drum the kick buttons.
it fails if they keep blocking, wake up super, or parry the mk.
i use negative edge when i throw normals between lov tosses
i tap and hold far strong charge a lov, then release strong and quick charge and tap and hold short for a negative edge short lov. then i repeat that techinique with st forward and st jab… to throw off the timings
this makes the lov’s come out right at the recovery of your moves so it makes zoning from dashing pretty good since the lov’s come out so fast after the normals…
with a button pressed and released as well it kinda shuffles the lov’s thrown from the normal because since your not doing real rapid fire u can switch up and throw one high one after another so it makes judgement for jumping over or dashing kinda haphazard.
I have a quick question for you guys if you don’t mind. I tried reading through like 13 pages of the thread then my eyes started bleeding.
I know that this is possible.
Lov to standing RRF. I’ve seen it in a match video and my friend told me how to do it…but I don’t get the motion. He said something like I have to tap back then down back or something but wtf?
If anyone could give me clear directions on how to do this, charge what direction, tap what, press what and so on.
Also, I’m not sure if anyone posted this combo, I didn’t see it.
Crouching fierce, short CBK, roundhouse RRF.
It does more damage than the crouch fierce into RRF but it only catches at certain heights. When they jump in, it usually catches. On the ground, haven’t gotten it to connect in a match but have done it in practice mode. You can also sub a Supreme RRF in the corner but you you don’t get the full hits.
But anyway, lov to rrf…I need to learn how to do that…it would be a great asset in my arsenal of tricks…tricks…the only way I can survive as a Remy…one more trick I didn’t see, whenever I would CBK enough, the other guy catches on and either parries or throws or does something after. If you have a Supreme RRF stored up, wait for the enemy to make a move or throw right after they block or parry the CBK, then Supreme RRF. They’ll think twice about countering it after a block/parry if you have meter.
Thanks and hopefully didn’t repost any stuff. If so, sorry guys, just a newb to Shoryuken.com. Thanks.
