As an introvert, I’d like to express a few things myself. I’m reserved, timid, and shy. When I’m at the grocercy store, I’m wearing my “I wish a nigga would” face as I’m wandering around the store pushing my cart. On topic, I tend to keep myself, especially in class when I don’t know anyone. The only time I’ll interact with others in public is when I’m at work, at a convention, or at an arcade (say Dave & Busters for example), where there’s some sort of common ground. There are days I don’t want to be bothered with people and rather be left alone, but ultimately I don’t fathom being alone despite finally learning how to have fun on my own. It doesn’t make sense, but that’s how it is for me. I’ve had people tell me that I’m cold, standoffish, and that my most notable trait is my quietness.
Some people would like to be alone (finally on topic). I can imagine the boards on the lunch table being “off putting” to someone who would be interested in conversing with the other person, along with a few assumptions about that person as well. To get straight to the point, there’s nothing wrong with dining alone. I’ve done it several times before I’ve met my college friends.
