This was a great tournament, and I really had a lot of fun. I almost didn’t make it. I’m glad my brother dragged me to go. I wasn’t really prepared to play this weekend.

This was the first major tournament in which my brother and I could really showcase our abilities. I’d like to thank Mike(Pyrolee), Nadir(Billykane), and Alex Valle, for helping me find holes in my game over the last couple of years. Simon, Cameron, and frog213 were also a big help.

Eric - When I played you it felt like I was in Japan again playing against Makoto. My brother felt the same way playing you. You really taught me a lesson in our match. I hope we can play more in the future.

Jay - I really enjoyed our match. I wish I could have spoken to you a bit more during the tournament. I hope my brother and I can get together with you and Eric in future. I have some family members in Virginia so hopefully we can make it happen.

Steve Harrison - Good games. I really liked the way you played against Justin. The crowd might not have liked it but my brother and I were impressed.

Justin - We got to see first hand your abilities in 3rd strike. You don’t take any unnecessary risks even if you’re the one with the advantage. My brother wanted to tag me in during your match with him. Too good. Congrats on winning the tournament.

Makoto from Texas? - After playing you in the second round and then playing Eric, I thought my chances of making top 8 were slim. I’m glad we both made it.

Frank - I don’t know you but we lost to the same people and we use the same character and the same color. That’s a good start.

Colin - My execution was off all weekend because I couldn’t really practice for the tournament. I saw some of your matches, and I thought wow this guy can really do some cool shit with Yun. I wish I could have seen Maeda-jin into KO finisher.

Deviljin - I was impressed by your Ibuki. I’ve never really seen you play before.

Alucard - Good Dudley. Are you from Detroit? I never asked. I have some family in Detroit. Thanks for the support in the finals.

I met so many people for the first time I’m starting to forget names. The North Carolina crew, people from Texas, and Virginia, it was nice meeting all of you.

Wow. That was my first Final Round and major, and damn, what an experience.

Thanks to Larry for throwing the best shit ever. I got to meet a lot of people I had wanted to meet face-to-face. Meeting JWong in person and getting to chill in his room was something I won’t ever forget (no homo :lol: ). Blazinflo was right though, you want to play him really bad at first, then, after playing him, you just want to kick him out of the rotation :rofl:. Getting to play blazinflo casually all those times in marvel helped me cool down my “jitters” a bunch. Too bad it didn’t happen BEFORE Saturday’s marvel brackets started :rofl:. Meeting Dark Prince at 2 in the morning while he was drunk as hell was funny as shit. Also, cvs2 finals were way too epic. Good shit to steve h for picking up that win.

The most successful Final Round Ever?

I’ve received phone calls from some of the players that have attended what could be the greatest fighting game tournament of the year in the Fighting Game Community. Congratulations to all top 8 placing.

Mike and GA Wes: You’ve done well to represent your set Deadly Alliance. So far you guys have officially ushered in Super Smash Brothers Brawl with your 2nd place National title, your 1st place New York Regional Title and now 1st and (3rd- if I’m not mistaken) at Final Round. You’ve represented the Empire well.

Steven Harrison and Jeron: Your rise from shadows to distinctively create your own reputation gives great credit to your ambitions and your will to power it. I am proud of you both and look forward to hearing more of your success in the future.

Arturo and Justin: Ever consistent in your ability to master the games you play once again you’ve done an excellent job. Congratulations!
