A quick little update:
Hori changed my order status to “Completed” this evening, so I’m presuming they should be shipping it very shortly.
Will drop another message here when that happens.
EDIT: Well whaddaya know. An hour after Hori sends me the “Completed” e-mail, I get the “Shipped” e-mail. So the Canadian Hayabusas are in-transit already to my hotel in Atlanta.
I will contact each of you after I get back from my trip (March 30th), so that I can get each of your shipping addresses and calculate exact shipping.
I’ll be in touch.
Is anyone else from Europe interested in the bulk order? I would like to get this settled soon and I don’t want people to think I’m ignoring them or not doing this anymore. I was simply hoping more people would hop on.
I’m going to close the order on Friday. If no one else joins their loss. Either way, the Europe bulk order is over $100 so we get the free shipping from Hori to me, which will at least save some costs.
I ended up working all day Friday so I wasn’t able to get the order in. I will have the order in on Monday, and it should process and ship by Tuesday or Wednesday.
Good luck with all this!
Undertaking’s like this can be a major pain-in-the-ass but at least some people are going to be very happy when they get the Hayabusa…
Worst comes to worst and they don’t like the Hayabusa, they can always sell it to a buddy that likes Seimitsu joysticks.
But seriously, Hori really needs to ramp up distribution and expand a bit more outside of Japan… would help if their product were more available at B&M retail but seeing as a lot of things are going webstore-only (most movies, music CD’s, etc.) I think it’s safe to say that if you really want the joysticks or parts you’re going to deal with the web one way or another. I don’t think we’ll ever see HRAP’s let alone arcade parts at GameStop or Frye’s. I think there is a fair chance that the ‘usual suspect’ arcade parts shops (PAS, Focus Attack, Akihabarashop.jp) will eventually stock Hayabusa’s if Hori feels the market will support it.
