I wouldn’t call he delusional. From the rest of his quotes, he seems like the kind of guy who assesses a situation based on past experience. He doesn’t say he’s the best, he’s saying that he hasn’t met anyone younger than him who’ll be able to challenge him. That’s probably why he doesn’t feel threatened by them. Considering he’s played well over 10000 matches, it’s probably a reasonable position to take.
