No, only the CWJ-303A is capable of a Japanese mount. All other crown models are Korean mount only because of the collar on the stick base.

Same goes with Myoungshin/Taeyoung.

Since I sold this panel, I decided to share this pictures of this build before I lose the images forever or something.

This is a custom panel from LLC for a Korean setup using saulabi button layout (which I learned to use from the wooden korean stick).

Using full multi console cthulhu mod with RJ-45. Also using the weco 12mm buttons for start/back. They fit perfectly into the SE side button holes.

My Crown CWJ-303A Clear Red just made it from Korea to my door step…I hit the lab in TTT2 and KOF XIII and it is SMOOTH! I’m not going to be playing on Japanese Ball tops anytime soon…In fact I’m going to order a Clear White to throw in my Eight-Arc…

Here’s some pics!

God, if I had a Madcatz/Hori stick, those 303As would be up in that thing like a AVGN in a crappy game review.

If I had my SE still, yeah, no question.

I wish I could shop at etokki. My Unionpay card is practically worthless online. =/

I can’t believe Laugh doesn’t have a union pay option. It’s pretty big over here.

Just got the Crown 303A, and it feels very loose compared to the 303N. I am wondering if I installed it wrong…? It works just fine, but feels very loose compared to other korean sticks I have used/tried.

If you screwed down the 4 mount screws all the way you did all you can do. More than likely the rubber piece on the inside is a little softer than your 303n

Ahh thanks for the reply, I actually ended up opening up the 303N and switching out those parts with the 303A parts. I like it much more, thanks!

The rubber and spring in the 303N and the 303A are identical (Yes, I opened both side by side and confirmed it). In fact, the sticks are identical save for the top piece of the base (the mounting plate) and the microswitches. So softer feel of the 303A is due to the microswitches. The levels on the 303A switches are extended further. The additional length on the lever requires less force to engage the switch.

I swapped the microswitches on the two and the 303A became just as stiff feeling as the stock 303N.

omni is back up for preorder for march 2…rejoice

Arghh…I’m thinking of pre-ordering one of these since it’s dual modded, and the construction just looks amazing.

Anyone know if the Sanwa version brings the Noir layout or a Viewlix? Been playing on the Viewlix forever and I’m not sure how difficult adjusting will be.

Even the sanwa version has a noir layout now sadly.

It’s the Noir layout. The stick looks gorgeous! Only thing holding me back is that I wish there was a Vewlix option. Tried to get back into the Noir layout (with a Madcatz SCV stick) but just wasn’t feeling it.
Yeah…I have one of the MLG TEs…and right now that and the Fightstick Pro are on sale for a 100$ so I might just end up picking up another one of those (Brother started playing SF4 so now we both need sticks to play vs. each other)…

I love how this stick looks…but since I’m not exactly a Tekken player, it might not be worth it to pick it up then.

How much does it cost to ship a Crown 303A joystick and a conversion harness to the US?

I’m interested in knowing since I’ll probably get one of these joysticks later this year…
honestly prefer the noir layout…
Sorry this has probably been asked before, but has anyone tried putting Crown snap-in buttons into a Sanwa button hole, ie. MadCatz stick? I’m guessing they would be too loose to use properly. I much prefer the snap-in buttons than the screw-ins.

Crown buttons in Sanwa holes won’t work.

Diameters are different.
Crowns are 28mm, Sanwas are 30mm.
You’d need to get some kind of adapter to fit the buttons, or a new faceplate altogether to use Crowns with any Mad Catz stick.

I have heard, though, that Dreamcast Agetecs fit Crown buttons without serious modding, though… You WOULD be limited to the new Crown 303A joystick (in addition to the JLF or Seimitsu LS joysticks) because the other Korean joysticks are probably too DEEP/tall to fit into any Japanese stick case including the DC Agetec.
