double post…
ok. Then unfortunately I can only wait =(
Currently waiting on restock before I place my orders. Just wanted to confirm if the JLF comes with a harness.
Thanks
order came in today, thanks for the super quick shipping!
This is off topic, but I never realized the pun in “Fanta Stick” before. Did they mean for it to sound like “fantastic” or what?
Yeah Laugh, but i’m from Brazil. =)
Laugh, when will you have more White Sanwa OBSF 30s in stock?
I’d also like to buy 8 white Sanwa OBSF-30 to install in my newly acquired (and yet to arrive) Paewang Revolution. If the price on the harnesses (for the buttons and for the stick) is good enough, I’ll buy them too.
Great store, great prices. One suggestion: give shoppers/users some kind of interaction facility, a simple forum (like those on Deal Extreme), comments on products or even a chat, I don’t know. I’m sure more people buy at etokki than register here at shoryuken.
Since this a thread detailing Korean hardware, perhaps someone can answer me a few basic questions regarding this arcade stick:
Is what I am looking at an all plastic casing but similar in design the classic Happ/Il-based wooden controllers?
I get it that the stick and buttons come stock with Korean parts. And from my initial research these stock parts are total crap so they would need to be modded right away with either Crown CWB203A or CWB203C buttons and a Myoungshin Fanta joystick. Possibly a Myoungshin Fanta hard rubber as well to increase tension. I do not suppose that this casing can easily (keyword here is “easily”) be modded to use Happ parts could it?
I mean, I will be honest here… I could truly care less about the PCB or crappy OEM parts. My main interest here is the plastic casing. I love the design and think that it is about time someone came up with a stick that mimmicked those old wooden handles made from materials that are a bit more contemporary.
Generally what do any of you within the SF community think of this stick overall and are there any other cases or arcade controllers like this?
I love the stick overall. I’ve been playing on mine for a little while now, and it’s just solid once modded. The case holds together nicely, and is pretty ergonomical as far as the layout and angle goes. Case is pretty weighty, you can’t really go wrong with it.
Putting American buttons in wouldn’t be too difficult, except for wiring them up to the PCB. You also might have to pop the microswitch off and put it back on after you put the button in place. securing it with a nut might also pose problems with the buttons being so close together. It would probably be easier done if you put in a smaller PCB you can put off to the side. As far as a competition stick, I’m honestly not sure. It would fit through the hole, no problem, and the dustwasher would easily cover it up, but as far as the mounting goes, I’m not sure.
I do know I’m satisfied with my Myoungshin and Crown 203C’s in Street Fighter, and could play on them all day.
Just got my buttons/ball top today (was barely a week so that was good). I’m having a hard time changing the buttons though (I can get like one side of the button in, and that’s about it lol), just wondering if that’s normal (I’m semi-frustrated, but don’t wanna force/break it so I’m tkaing a break).
I asked Ryan in a PM already but what are most people using to replace the awful staple like things that come with the korean fake wooden stick? I’m to the point where I’m just going to drill screws in it until my buttons break down the road and get a real case then. I tried looking for hinges you’d put on a jewelry box earlier today at home depot but they were too small or too big(puncture PCB)… anyone? Trying to make it flip open from top if possible.
edit: also what’s a good thing to weigh this down with? like where would I go to buy generic, dense, heavy weights that i can put in there?
Found hinges that fit. now I just need something to put on the front to keep it locked down
About what size were they?
almost exactly 1" with the flaps open long and 1.4" wide. they cost like a dollar at home depot
VICTORY! Hey everyone I know Im violating but I had to post my new custom stick here. The build consist of: Myoungshin Fanta Stick and crown buttons; It’s dual moded for PS3 and Xbox 360.
