Probably the stock USB cable needs a full replacement. Those Paewang pcb’s are kinda crap : /

@seqo will do man, I’ll have my guy check the voltage – Thanks!

@gahrling are they really crap?!, one of the reasons why I got this stick was because of the low latency frames. I know I can swap out the pcb for something better, but I may sacrifice the latency advantage. — Thoughts??

low latency does not equal quality and reliability.
Any ways the minuscule amount of time that lag hits is not going to destroy your game play ability (despite bull shit claims of some)

The USB cable is bad quality and those pcbs have had a lot of issues with malfunction. So yeah, it doesn’t matter how “lag free” something is if it’s at high risk of developing other faults :slight_smile:

@darksakul @gahrling I see your guy’s point…

So what does one do?, replace my usb cable with the same sh**ty cable and have this problem occur again, or upgrade to a better cable??

I personally prefer quality/reliability as well, which is the other reason why I bought this stick due to its superior build quality.

I’m sure I can swap the paewong w/ a ps360 and add the neutrik connector and call it a day??

The Cheap and easy solution is a Replacing the USB cable, preferably something a bit thicker and shielded (they are usually built better)
Something with a ferrite core on the cord would not hurt ether.

Replace the USB cable with a good quality one as mentioned above. You’ll need to be careful though not to damage the existing solder points on the pcb when you remove that orange glue.

Alternatively you could try the USB repair tool so you avoid soldering: http://www.phreakmods.com/products/usb-repair-tool

@gahrling will do – Thanks!

Yet, if I do decide to replace the usb cable w/ a better one, any suggestions on which ones I should get?? Any brands in mind @darksakul??

monoprice

The PCBs are fine in my experience. It is just the cable that is always going bad. I really wish laugh would replace them in the Omni to increase it’s stock quality.

Also, if you replace it, replace it with one that does not have a ferrite core. Those tend to be less reliable. If you cut the existing Paewang ferrite core off, I bet the same cable will work just fine. That is how I fix the Omni cables when they go bad if I don’t have a spare monoprice cable around.

@darksakul will do, I posted an image below of the exact one I’ll probably purchase which is ideal?? Also, bear with me on this stupid question… I’m assuming my guy will have to split open the USB B connector end for soldering purposes??

@therobin if the ferrite core’s aren’t reliable, what’s the point of them to begin with??

Yeah chop off the USB B Plug, ether solder or get one of Phreakmods USB repair tools

@darksakul will do, thanks for the help!

Add me to the list of people unable to complete an order on etokki. Bummed, I really want to try Crown Buttons.

@loomer you can hit up paradisearcadeshop.com…they have some crown buttons and are here in the US…and I believe soon they will have the new ones that came out a few months ago.

Update – @Darksakul @gahrling @therobin I was able to get the usb wire cable replaced at NCR by Marvelous Customs, BUT it wasn’t with the intended Monoprice usb cable that I purchased.

It seems like they took a usb cable from a MadCats stick, and it does have a ferrit-core. Hopefully this holds up. All in all, it works like new and happy so far. Gonna baby this stick from now on lol.

Thanks again for the help.

any advice on fitting a Crown CWL306 in an Omni? its too tall and the bottom of the shaft hits the bottom metal plate. i have a dremel but i dont know where to start

any update on fullfillment/activity on etokki store? or are people still having issues?

Can someone test and confirm if the paewang works on USF4 on PS4?
