Ethernet cable "drop through" solution?

I have 2 Ethernet to USB cables, both with ethernet females, and 1 male USB A on one and it’s corresponding female on the other.

Could I use those 2 on opposite ends of the floor, and have the thinner USB A be a “slimdown connector” compared the overly large Ethernet Male head?

I, for example, pass cable TV by turning Coaxial into single RCA males and feeding those, with thin wires in between through the floor where an F Type head would not fit.

Similar theory between USB and Ethernet. Does it work in reality? If the answer is unknown, would it hurt to try? I’m aware a lot of retro boards use ethernet cables as common connectors. And USB and ethernet have been recently convertible standards.
