Eric Garner Chokehold Police Brutality VIDEO : Black Man Killed By Police

LAPD are the champions there.

Just saw the full vid, damn shame he seemed like a nice guy and the cops just straight up murder him for good reason, anybody in NYC that can give an update on whats happening to the cops that did this?

Police are given more power and privileges and thus should be held to a higher standard than other professions. Also this:

It’s been shown time and time again that police misconduct has an excessively low rate of punishment even with it’s been recommended and substantiated internally.

Not only that, but it’s also been proven that police usually receive shorter sentences if jailed at all. Often receiving a reprimand or temporary suspension for an act that would get a normal person jail time.

There is hundreds of thousands of cops in the USA but there is no excuse for defending the less than 1% of cops proven to be bad, often repeatedly.

LOL how is selling cigarettes illegal???

Its all crazy, I guess at the end of the day he was a young enterprising black man trying to feed his family, cops aint gonna let shit like that slide in NYC.

One of the cops was stripped of his badge, while another was reassigned to a desk job.

Maybe slightly off topic but I always LOL @ how im driving on the road, obviously speeding and a cop just flies past me after probably running my tags and seeing that I’m clean.

So its okay for police officers to speed, and yet they pull over folks daily for not going the speed limit. I never got that.

Laws are only effective if they can be enforced.

Who enforces speeding laws? Cops. Why would they enforce it on themselves?

There are actually a lot of laws on the books to curb corporate and government waste. The only problem is the people charged with enforcing those laws don’t want to do it, and are usually either being paid off or otherwise benefit from not doing so. So in actuality the laws are utterly useless.

Same goes for any of your “rights.” They’re not “rights” because unless you can somehow force the issue in your favor they will just be ignored as convenient. At best you can get a lawyer afterwards to help you, but most people don’t know their rights and then don’t know or don’t want to get an attorney. But for some of this stuff, the cost to enforce your rights isn’t worth it, so unless you can afford to keep a skilled attorney on retainer you won’t pursue it. Most of the Consumer Protection laws are of that nature, and hence why consumers generally get little protection.

People get confused about civilization because simple concepts get complicated.

But ultimately what matters now is what has always matter before. Power. If you have it, you write the laws and enforce them. If you don’t, you constantly try to get things in your favor and just hope.

Of course they wouldnt enforce it on themselves, I was asking why dont the people enforce it on the police.

For anyone interested the Gracie brothers do a breakdown of the situation, education yo self.

watching the whole thing, will comment later

I have to agree with their conclusion that it wasn’t the choke hold that killed him, it probably did elevate his anxiety levels, I think laying him down on his front and then having two officers sit on his back was what killed him, then you have paramedics just watching gormlessly

LAPD are the champions there.

You have to pay taxes on those cigarettes. Unless you can prove you did (tax stamp) it’s illegal.

This is some horrible shit but expected, the union are criticising that a dude loses his badge but doesnt say shit about the use of illegal restraining techniques that directly led to an unlawful killing. You would think the cops would be facing immediate trial in light of the available evidence but they sit em behind a desk lol, no justice in murika.

You cannot give people power and expect them not to abuse it, especially if those people are otherwise paid like shit. There’s a fighting game analog here: you give a player a tool, they’ll use the tool if it helps. They’ll use the shittiest character in the game of a glitch makes that character significantly less shitty. Yes I know FGs aren’t real life, but if you really need to say that, you’re missing the point.

Cops need bigger paycheques. They also need to be under video surveillance whenever they’re on the job, with no evidence they present being admissible without video evidence.

And hey, maybe there should be laws and programs in place to actually curb some of that rampant poverty, mental illness, and blatant racism that causes crimes.

You have to wonder: If the Rodney king incident were to happen tomorrow, would the cops involved still be put on trial or would they just do something like they did here in this case? Food for thought…

If another Rodney King happened they would probably get off depending on the jury. Remember the juror in the Trayvon Martin case who let their prejudice rationale be public

I mean this fool basicly states that George simply made a mistake because of bad judgment. Shows just how low the level of decentcy and compassion people have when a kids death was just because of a mistake and the killer should be innocent

I have to agree and disagree with the Gracies though. I do remember from Judo about how different chokes attack different functions like airway, arteries, veins etc. However even they mentioned Garner had asthma which highetend everything and that with proper techniques you don’t need a lot of pressure to keep someone of the ground. That’s why the use of tasers was so controversial because even a low voltage can be fatal if you don’t know the persons medical history or condition. And of course you won’t know unless in the rare case they just tell you immediately

What do you think happens when an overweight guy with asthma is on his stomach with four guys on top of him? More than likely loose his breathe aka choke. Regardless if the RNC was directly responsible its a banned technique and the officers used bad techniques and excessive force which lead to his death, period

Is the Trayvon Martin shooting really that relevant to this? That case involved some Neighborhood Watch dumbass trying to be a hero and following some kid around because he thought he looked suspicious. This case involved some policemen drawn to some kind of actual incident, getting nervous because someone was sounding aggressive, and then putting him in a chokehold for some dumb reason and killing him.

This is how much cops get paid where I live while 30 miles where Eric Garner died the cops are likely paid 1/3 of that. I’ve always wondered if NYC cops are salty they have to deal with actual crime, but get paid a lot less than their neighbors and maybe take it out on civilians.

INB4 salt.

Holy fuck Nassau county cops getting PAID, like jesus christ these motherfuckers moonlighting as Batman or something?

This is sad.

Killed over illegal CIGARETTES.

Oh, this happened in NYC. That was my second guess. I figured this happened in Bahstin, that kind of shit is the norm over there.

White power?
