Eric Garner Chokehold Police Brutality VIDEO : Black Man Killed By Police

look up police laws that exempt the police from doing their job, and grant them immunities when they fuck up. look ip at the militarization of the police, and its continued lobbying for further militirization. look up at how many people are jailed, and targeted by police so that they can get continued funds. Look up the second set of books that targets and agitators men in domestic disputes, even if it was the man that called the police.

After a high-speed car chase and after the dude resisted arrest. If there was any smiling and laughing (I don’t think there was with the King case), it would probably be out of relief, not joy.

If most people told me they wouldn’t be scared as shit, I’d laugh at them.

The system sucks then, not every single person that’s a part of it.

I agree you can’t caterogize and entire group as being one thing or another. I think what he was attempting to say is that the police are pawns regardless of their individual personalities. Conspiracy groups mess up when they over state reality. We dont live a true police state other wise this would happen every day and there
would be no rallies condemning it. But there are practices and policies in places that titer on that line that have been reported by real news outlets

Police state, fascism, communist etc are just buzz words thrown around at any example of the government doing something wrong

Also in the criticisms of cops above. I agree that cops are just normal people, but thats why im always cautious of the police. I personally think its too much power given to a normal man, with fairly low standards to even become an officer, and even lower standards in monitoring their behavior, and keeping a “clean”, moral department of officers. Its mostly only too much power because only a few cities have officers with cams on them to record all arrest as a standard, which is a sigh of relief for me that if i get abused, its likely to be recorded, but then again i do not know who oversees that data, so it could be subject to the same corruption we always see, and there goes my sigh of relief. Also, when cops are caught in the act, they rarely go to jail. How many people have been flat out murdered in nyc and assaulted now, with not one cop going to fucking jail. How many videos have we seen of police planting evidence, and the most that happens is they might lose their job. So in our heads we basically know a cop could abuse their power all he/she wants, and if we do not have video and audio evidence of the encounter, we’re basically fucked, and its always their word over ours.

None of that shit is by accident too. The “system” is designed that way so you fear cops more then you should. They want you to feel powerless, cowering in fear to authority, rather then respecting it, but times are changing, and technology has changed the game, with more and more people recording the police just to record them, even if they were not involved in the incident they are recording, because the trust is no longer there for many people. I agree that a majority of cops in america are probably cool dudes, and thats because a majority of the USA isnt filled with major metropolitan areas. I say that because in big cities like new york, you are going to get many more meat heads and assholes who wanna be cops, and cant wait to arrest your ass for something dumb so they can get those numbers up to move to the exciting squads in the department where they will get more action.

Like, i doubt you will find the same police corruption and assholes in montanna that you would in NYC, Miami, L.A, Las Vegas, etc… The sad part is that more cops arent taking a stand against department corruption, and these types of incidents. They are all scared and just trying to survive like everyone else. They arent these people of high moral standards that we want them to be, and they dont seem to be trained to be that way anyways. Many of them are ex military anyways. Not to shit on military men and women, but i would argue a lot of those dudes coming from the military straight to law enforcement arent exactly your number 1 picks for being a cop, probably not your top 20. lol.

Cops may not be your enemy, but im weary of calling them my friends also. They exist, and i just hope i dont one day end up a story on the news as the result of police abusing their power. But to focus on NYC, the new mayor seriously needs to do something about the NYPD. I know you dont have the easiest job in that city of assholes (lol, not a ny fan), but i mean cmon with the blatant murdering of innocent men and non violent criminals with no cops seeing prison walls.

I look at the federal government, judicial system, officers, state government, etc… as generally being abusive fathers who want you to respect them out of fear, not because they always do the right thing. The only fault in that practice is when the people stop wanting to be abused, and thats not going to happen anytime soon, so it is what it is. People in this country, and humans in general, love being subdued and raped in the ass by the “system”, because the confusing part is, its your fellow man doing the raping, not robots, cyborgs, or aliens. Your fellow neighbors are the ones voting for poor reasons, being corrupt/bad cops, corrupt judges, prejudice against people for their skin color, religion, etc, racist, stupid, the list goes on. So humans generally find themselves in this emotional limbo of just accepting the dick in their ass for stupid reasons of just wanting to keep their friends or relationships on good terms, and a list of other inane, emotionally weak reasons. Offtopic, but also to mention, being a normal everyday hardworking citizen, and having a negative opinion of the police is like the biggest taboo. How dare you not be a criminal, but not have a super high opinion of the police, and constantly question them. I say that last sentence because since people dont want to be that guy, especially as they socialize and try to broaden their social and professional connections, you would rather ignore shit, and say nothing, then be an outsider. I’m sure enough psychologist have discussed what people will do to just not be an outsider, including agreeing with shit they do not believe in.

Thats the shortest i could summarize my thoughts. lol

Like I said it clearly plays and role and yes in a high speed chase definitely does. But out of 17 cops who stood by and watched him get beat nearly to death not one stood in and said stop. Even if you resist excessive force still matters and clearly thats what happened. And go watch the videos they were laughing when thy got off. Saying it was relief not joy is just symantics

And if Garner scares you when he doesn’t pose a threat then you’re scared of something deeper than that situation

I’d at least be apprehensive if I was a cop and some dude was yelling at me to leave him alone when I approach him.

Me saying “fuck the police” doesn’t mean “fuck all the police.”

America has a habit of glorifying anybody who has a “hard job” to the point of viewing them as infallible. Soldiers. Cops. Football players. People are immediately willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and blame the victims and close their eyes, put their fingers in their ears, and hum to prevent themselves from realizing their real-life “heroes” aren’t perfect. That’s what keeps female soldiers’ rape cases from being heard, cops from being punished and football players from not having to be rapists and bullies.

It seemed appropriate. Big guy resisting arrest, defying the officers, and he paid for it. No big loss.

A Father of six dying for trying to help improve the quality of life of his neighborhood is more of a loss than all the junkie hipsters in New York including @raz0r’s worthless ass.

How was he improving anything? He’s known to sell cigarettes and that’s it. Being a father doesn’t make you a paragon in the neighborhood.

i think the issue is the excessive use of force. Not whether he was a productive member of society or not. But who wouldnt get defensive when a group of armed policemen roll up on you on the street given the past occurrences of deaths related to excessive force?

For those who haven’t seen this video yet, check it out. A old Caucasian man’s reaction to the video of Eric Garner.

So not all white people are trash after all.

(Whether you take offense to that ^ is irrelevant to me… I’ve witnessed enough Caucasian elitism in my life already)

Please look up the number of deaths by excessive force by the NYPD happen per year. It’s not a lot.

It still happens, and that’s a problem

fuck a cop.

(i had a more intelligent response but…na…fuck em)

I want you to show me numbers that makes it an issue.

Person dies by the hands of a cop(s) in the NYC…

Nothing to see here folks, just another day :coffee:

It’s not like the guy helped his situation.

And this is the problem with cops.

It’s similar to the problem we have with teachers: way too many people doing it aren’t fit for it.
