So I assume everyone saw the ToD combo for shuma on the front page today. I can’t connect a c.H -> mystic stare after an eye explosion to connect at all. They always seem to be to high for eyeballs to connect. Also once hit stun deterioration kicks in I can never connect ground s into air heavy, they are again to high. Is this a large character only thing, or is it that i need super tight window on S or something. The reason I brought this up is I’ve basically added a mystic stare to my near or in corner combo to get a 605k damage combo for 1 meter with a reset at the end and the whole thing is super easy to do. I also can easily link a lvl 3 at the end to make 1.005,000 damage. This is with only 1 mystic stare which is done while akuma is hitting them.

The addition of mystic stare only adds like 40k damage, its more the fact that the eyeballs exploding comes after he stops posing meaning I can jab or any other normal into a reset. I love this since I usually feel at a disadvantage after a super with shuma. I’m pretty sure that with two assists I could easily make this into a anywhere combo for a good 650k for 1 meter, though I usually don’t build combo’s aruond two assists since I’m prolly using one to get an opener.

The starter to this is like 730,000 with only one assist and the reset option (if you cancel into Hyper late enough, otherwise you’ll be getting about 20k less damage) and it works midscreen if you wavedash like crazy rather than taunt :stuck_out_tongue:

That combo is so unrealistic and unrealiable. Most of the time you can’t connect Heavy after the ground S, also the M, c.M, c.H, light mystic stare lniks are not fun in pressure situations especially midscreen, heck the s.M into c.M does not work on all characters and some requires super tight timings (midscreen). When you are looking to play a character you need to use practical combos, I can get more than 650k off the combo I listed but its 10x harder and the damage pay off is not worth the risk of dropping, not to mention I have to basically start in the corner to get that extra 750k.

P.S. I was referring to the solo ToD combo on the front page of shoryuken in the middle of that one combo video. I’ve figured out the trick and its so unpractical, basically the c.H and the last eye ball explosion have to hit at the same time which is retarded to try and apply.

The H after the ground S is easy, you can do the S really late and you’ll hit the H every time. And M cM cH aren’t links, just a easy chain. As for the rest do as you want, like I care? Just trying to help.

oh, also found out how to use :h: attacks during chaos dimension. didn’t see anything about it skimming through the thread, nor do i see anyone adding an :h: up laser in the air before chaos dimension for that final extra damage. a combo example and explanation here…

I recently picked up Shuma. I like to mess with this BnB with Doom’s beam assist.

cr.L, cr.M(2 hits), cr.H, j.M(2 hits), j.H, j.8H, j.M(2 hits), j.H, j.8H xx air Mystic Smash M, s.M(2 hits), S, sj, j.M(2 hits), j.M(2 hits), j.H, j.S otg(if the combo drags all the way to the corner, which most of the time it does) Mystic Ray H + Doctor Doom Assist, cr.H jump cancel to do throw mixup. You can catch all air recoveries after the otg setup. I then combo again with Shuma off of the throw.

(Corner)Throw, Mystic Ray M/H, s.M(2 hits), S, sj, j.M, j.M, j.H, j.S, otg Mystic Ray H + Doctor Doom Assist, s.M(2 hits), S, sj, j.M, j.H, j.S otg (Hyper)/Mystic Ray H

It builds 2.5 meters and almost kills off any character if not kill them off. You can also just do the mixup again when you use the Doom assist and be able to kill off the opponent for sure.

So by now almost all shuma’s have adapted the combo that starts with a launch into j.m into heavy mystic smash land standing medium into whatever. People will also comment that sometimes characters fall faster or slower for seemingly no reason and makes timing the relaunch much harder than it should be especially on characters like morrigan or zero. I recently found a way to make this relaunch much more reliable. If after a ground S if you jump AWAY from the opponent so upback, then the relaunch is actually much easier. This can make leading into a more complicated relaunch like i’ve mentioned before much easier and practical.

I picked up the guide last night to have a combo book to have on my lap as I play but there are a few combos for Shuma I just don’t understand how to do.

One of the BnB’s goes

cr.M, st.H, backwards jump, j.QCF.M, land, cr.H, backwards jump, j.QCF.M etc etc

I can’t connect anything after the standing H and I’ve never seen anyone start a combo off of a standing H but the book lists that backwards jump a few times. Anyone have a clue how to do this?

Im sure its just a typo. st. H isnt jump cancelable and only like what +6 on hit? not enough time to TK mystic smash.

Can you list some of the other combos in that book for shuma? need some midscreen damage.

The guide has 5 combos that use that weird cr.M, st.H, backwards jump, QCF.M. I’m using every combination possible and I still can’t pull it off. The easiest seems to be

cr.M, st.H, backwards jump, j.QCF.M, land, cr.H, backwards jump, j.QCF.M, land, cr.H, L Mystic Stare, dash, S, j.MMHS, land, eyes detonate, S, j.HS, land Hyper mystic ray.

The other combos are variations of that off of throws, overheads, and anti-airs. I’ll post them if I can figure out how to do the first part. (replacing H with S doesn’t help either)

Edit: I got the thing to work by replacing the standing H with a crouching H. The link between cr.H and M smash is pretty tough though, and tiger kneeing the mystic smash is too slow for any followups (doing it too fast makes regular smash comes out) I can’t do really do it, maybe someone else can.

I can do it. Its not that hard, seems letting the Cr.M get both hits make it a lot easier. only part I dont like the the S, j.HS in the corner, just do J.HS, you only lose like 10k. I keep doing Cr.H, Mystic stare too fast sometimes though, and it kara’s the Cr.H. lol

really fun combo. good wall carry, decent damage too. it builds EXACTLY one bar. lol

Dont tiger knee the smash, it wont come out, you just gotta instant air it. UB,QCF+M. you got some time to do it, if you do it too fast, you can get some wierd crap like cross under Mystic smash. lol

Corner combo, does 1,121,700 damage. You can Chaos Dimension after the Missiles without even jumping to tack on an extra 200K.

there are other assists that work as well. But this combo does a lot of damage for one combo.

Hey guys I’m back and I’ve been in the lab again because of Rocket Raccoon. I wanted to make sure the BnB I use works on the new small hit-box character like it does on the old ones. Here is the video I posted before:

Well after some hard work I found out it did work on him, but like most small hit-box characters it is very difficult to consistently time it so Shuma doesn’t cross him over after the air Heavy Mystic Smash, ruining the combo. Then I tried a suggesting from another poster in this thread, which was to replace the Up. Heavy before the Air Heavy Mystic Smash with a Medium. This worked perfectly, until I tried it on Joe and Arthur and was angry to find that it is just as inconsistent when it comes to crossing them over as the Up. Heavy is. So through tons of trial and error in the lab I found a variation of this combo that will work on EVERYBODY. If it doesn’t work on someone you tried it on please tell me about it. Here it is:

c.L/c.M, c.H, S, SJ, M(1 hit so you don’t cross over on smaller characters), Heavy Mystic Smash, Land, s.M(1 hit otherwise the second hit pushes smaller characters to far away to consistently do the following c.M), c.M(2 hits, the second hit brings them closer to you), c.H, M Mystic Stare(I don’t think it matters which version you do but I always do M), S, SJ, M(1 hit on smaller characters, though only Rocket Raccoon’s hit-box was small enough to warrant this, I just put it in to assure you that this works on ALL. Also for Rocket Raccoon only, you have to wait to get closer to him before doing the M, otherwise it will whiff), H(Delay between H and S, you should be flowing upwards, yet another Rocket Raccoon-specific issue, though it helps for the timing on everybody because if you do this part to fast the Mystic Stare eyes will explode to soon, ending your combo by not launching your opponent), S, double wave-dash followed by one final dish(It sounds difficult but after practicing it this part becomes second nature and easy to do consistently), S, SJ, H(Try doing this on the way up and after hitting them delay this a bit. The delay will put you farther up into the air which is needed for more than just the smaller characters), S. You can end this with a Hyper Mystic Ray if you are close enough to the corner, and unless you started in the opposite corner, this combo will most-likely carry you there. If you start on the opposite corner than that combo will carry you within view of the opposite corner. Also you can do the Chaos Dimension instead of the final relaunch. Too hit Rocket Raccoon with the S to launch after Chaos Dimension just do a small dash before.

So there you have it. I understand that this is for a very small audience as many people probably don’t use this BnB (I tried doing c.H into M Mystic Smash loops but could not get them to work on smaller characters and other combos just don’t hurt enough). I don’t like having to have a different version of a combo for everyone, though if you can easily remember which characters to do 1 hit or 2 hit various of this and that move, then by all means do it, also some changes are solely for that pesky little Raccoon, but I thank hit. If it wasn’t for his small hit-box I wouldn’t have tried to find this stuff out. But if you are a one size fits all kind of guy like me, then this is for you. Think It isn’t too hard remembering to do full hits on the bigger hit-box characters, a lot of other characters in the cast which aren’t small will actually require differing deviations of the combo too. So here you go, this is the minimum damage variation of the combo because a lot of the hits are omitted to catch the little rascals that make us tweak all our combos(Or maybe this is just Shuma?). The minimum damage this combo does (Small hit-box characters will get hurt least) is: 473k(Rocket Raccoon only)/ 488k(Other small characters such as Joe and Arthur) and the maximum amount of damage this combo does(No hits are omitted, works on around 1/3, or 1/2 of the cast) is: 499,700. With the u.H variation of this combo shown in the video the maximum damage is: 525,200. These numbers are with the c.M starter and will only do about 1-2k less with the c.L, no significant difference. Now I probably have a lot of typos so don’t be afraid to tell me about them. I wrote a lot and have to go do something so I won’t really be looking over it. I hope I helped some people out there.
