Empire Arcadia Discussion

Whether or not there is money in gaming has nothing to do with Triforce. You said “To be honest I am pretty sure that everyone knows that there is no money in gaming yet. That is the whole point, that is what he [Triforce] is trying to do.” I was merely stating that there is money in gaming and that it is extremely difficult to be successful in the industry. Triforce has nothing to do with the big money in gaming, he most likely never will. I was not implying that people will start to quit their jobs when the scene grows bigger. I was pointing out that since the scene is growing the opportunity for gamers to make a living on fighting games will increase: they will have a better chance at landing a gaming contract given more companies become interested in the scene.

not for anything but it doesnt seem like Emp is important enough to warrant the attention it and Triforce has received in the last days/week. If anything, the recent empire arcadia exodus suggests they are less relevant than ever, so ultimately, why does anybody care? does this apparently terrible situation that sanford finds himself in really worry you that much. Meh.

ah, the 'ole personally attacking someone and then closing with ‘and if anyone personally attacks me for this, it just shows how ignorant and/or immature they are’ routine. The new age classic that keeps on giving.

Because Triforce seems to be more concerned about putting pictures of his peen online rather than the sake of managing his players and expanding the growth of Empire Arcadia. Then he blames the financial crisis of the company on other people and vents them through youtube. If Empire wishes to grow, they should learn how to respect everyone in the community, not laugh and spit in their faces after taking their money. Fuck that.

word.

Pure Gold.

Seriously, I haven’t heard anyone get on Triforce’s case in a year or 2, so what warrants all this anyway? Other than the “exodus” to EG which has been happening for a while now? Did I miss like some huge dramatic scene at EVO or something?

Also, dick pics, cyber sex, good lord.

I found RENTPIRE ARCADIA to be hilarious. Gold.

This is more than enough to not respect them whatsoever.

I’m glad GM was smart enough not to get involved with there stupid ass bull shit. I like Blood Red too, even though he can be goofy sometimes, but I honestly don’t think that he should be involved with them either.

Anyone can change so I’m willing to give Try Force the benefit of the doubt that he can change but for now it’s amusing to sit back and see what happens with this shit.

I think this calls for EMP ARC roundtable discussion, put on youtube…

When I first heard about the empire, I was thinking that it looked like something pretty cool.

But with all of the stuff that goes on in there, I know it’s really nothing more than a joke. It kind of reminds me of the Twilight series in how funny it is.

Edit: Triforce is the gay sparkling vampire.

Golden boy and everyone’s favorite US Dick-to-ride J Wong left, aint you know? :hitit:

A few months ago someone posted something to Triforce in the Atlantic Northeast forum calling him out and saying he didn’t do shit for the community and blah blah blah and it was just an argument. But I think since “credible” people are leaving his little failing empire people are starting to be more open about what they say.

Everyone wants the top players to think they’re cool. No one gives a fuck about a guy with a power glove playing tetris in the corner by himself. But if Tetris man pretty much owns the top players, they won’t say shit about him in fear the players under him won’t accept them.

Shinjo1017, a couple comments and my thoughts.

Why is ?contract? always in quotes? Subsequent posters suggest that they in fact exist, so if something is wrong with them, you should explain.

Nitpick: I think the word you?re looking for is ?imperial? not ?empiric.?

I?ve never met anyone involved so I can only go by what I?ve read and seen online. I think Skisonic?s interview said it best: Triforce tried to do with Empire Arcadia what Evil Geniuses is doing, which is make gaming more culturally accepted and profitable at the same time. In some respects EMP has made progress, but like the vast majority of independent businesses, it probably will not succeed. In the interview, someone said that Triforce was trying to do everything himself, as contrasted with EG who has multiple staff members with particular expertise.

One of your points of contention is the financial aspect. ?Pyramid scheme? definitions aside, you think the players are wasting their time, opportunities and even money (in the form of tournament winnings) because they don?t get enough in return. My impression is they got an environment in which to play and improve their talent, and something has to pay for that environment. Whether that is ?enough? or even ?fair? is a point suitable for debate, but I think you go too far with the brainwashing innuendo. The players in EMP are all adults who are allowed to make their own choices. I think it?s more plausible, as later posters have said, that they may be embarrassed with their choice. There?s also nothing wrong with loyalty as long as it?s informed.

In the end, I see no actual evidence of malicious intent. To me, it looks like a man?s honest attempt to push the scene forward. And guess what? The scene finally made it, breaking through with Street Fighter IV. Now, the problem is that the scene is continuing to progress, to the point that it will overtake EMP as more sophisticated entrants like EG come in. In the big picture, EMP?s mission succeeded, even if financially the company itself will not. It?s almost kind of sad, but that?s how business works.

I hope this helps, and let me know if I misinterpreted or omitted any of your points.

this is like doing a rain dance and then saying your mission succeeded when it rains

Do you think that the people who signed with Empire were tricked into signing a contract? This is the real world sweety, if you want to get money in non-traditional ways you’re going to have to sacrifice something.

Some guy getting threatened to be sued for trying to leave after signing a contract? sounds pretty fair to me.

Seems like its nothing personal, just business.

If you’re stupid enough to screw yourself over just because someone offers you a contract and money for doing what you love then its your own fault. Don’t give a business bad publicity because they’re doing whatever possible to survive, if you don’t agree with how they operate then don’t give them your business.

Hating Empire for trying to squeeze money out of people to survive is like hating Coca-Cola for putting caffeine or sugar in their drinks. You can’t do anything about it except make legitimate claims against their business practices and I have not seen one legitimate claim. What I am seeing is an argument about how Coca-Cola is evil for putting mildly addictive substances in their drink so people will like them and continue to purchace the product allowing Coca-Cola to stay in business.

Give me a reason to hate Empire, besides the fact that most of their members look and talk like gangsters.

He doesn’t even have legitimate licenses or anything to show as legal contracts probably.

The term ‘contract’ is in quotes because there is no concrete evidence that one actually exists, although it is heavily implied. What we are left with is hearing people talk about the ‘contracts.’ A video or picture of the ‘contracts’ would be proof. For all we know, they are printed on Wendy’s napkins and approved by Judge Joe Brown.

I addressed what I was trying to do when I referenced the ‘pyramid scheme’ term. It was a marketing point for the article, nothing more.

Taken from the previous post: “I understand how pyramid schemes work, trust me. I am well aware of Abunza, Market America, and others like it. The term ‘pyramid scheme’ should be taken loosely. In reality, what would a gaming pyramid scheme look like? Ask yourself that question. When I say ‘pyramid scheme’ it should not be taken literally, use the concept to be applied to the structure of Empire Arcadia. The main point I wanted to make is that, like a pyramid scheme, very few will succeed when joining Empire Arcadia. The organization benefits from every new member, and has to do little to no work to maintain the structure. So again, don’t take the ‘pyramid scheme’ part too seriously, it was more of a marketing point for the article. Please just focus on the content. Thanks for your post! I greatly appreciate constructive criticism.”

It was not my intention to make Empire Arcadia seem to have malicious intentions. If you interpreted this article in that way, I apologize.

“In the big picture, EMP?s mission succeeded” - Freaky Hibiki

This was one of the funniest quotes I have seen in a while.

the idea that anyone would be scared by a legal threat from triforce is hilarious. if the dude cant even make rent how the fuck is he gonna sue you

This is totally of topic, but could you answer a question for me? Why is it every time I watch a stream with Arturo Sanchez on it, Arturo eventually says “shout outs to Polarity?”

Am I missing some inside joke?
