Just look at the current situation with triforce and a recent memeber who just left. If Triforce actually cared about the player who were with him in the beginning and defended him, he’d let them out of their contracts and keep it moving.
Oh can you do one of these for gootecks? Like how he charges 15 bucks for info scrubs can get free on forums, and basically will do anything to scam cash from noobs?
The OP sounds like a hater.
Most pyramid schemes do cost money to join. The general idea is that they require you to give something (in this case your time and efforts) for the unlikely chance of success. You are right, there is no ‘fee’ per say to join Empire Arcadia, but the time invested is worth more than money, think of the increasing amount of time invested in Empire Arcadia as the long time ‘membership fee.’ The more time one spends dealing with the organization, the more they end up loosing in the end.
What are they losing really? They weren’t going to spend time playing the game if not for empire arcadia?
Apparently you are not aware of FightingGm being threatened by Triforce to get his family sued for trying to leave Empire Arcadia for Evil Geniuses. That sure sounds like a good friend to me. “Stay with me and we are cool, if you try to leave I will sue your ass.” I can totally see what your’e talking about when you say Triforce “cared about the player”, when someone cares about someone, they sue them when they are trying to go on to bigger and better things. The only thing Triforce cares about is preserving his Empire and nothing more, it all comes down to self-preservation.
While that may be true, time spent dealing with the organization is a complete waste. Also, the amount of time a player would spend on the game would most likely greatly increase when in Empire Arcadia. If you were told that a certain game was your ticket to stardom, and all you had to do was polish your skills, wouldn’t you want to practice rigorously? It is the exact mindset the Empire Arcadia members are in. They are brainwashed into thinking that pro gaming is the norm, it isn’t, pro gamers are few and far between. So they spend countless hours practicing a video game when they could be getting jobs.
so why are Sanford and Yipes still with empire???
I don’t think they would allow anyone to just take advantage of them
One could only speculate as to why they are still in Empire Arcadia: I can give you an educated guess. Sanford and Yipes are both superb MVC2 players. The thing is, MVC2 is no longer a headliner game, it has sort of been put on the back burner, Super Street Fighter 4 is now the headliner game. Since Sanford is the one of the two that places fairly often, he has the greatest chance to be drafted by Evil Geniuses. I am not sure about Yipes. It all comes down to them having no other options other than to quit, so they stay. Mark my words, if Sanford is offered an Evil Geniuses contract he will take it.
Well Shin I guess you just have a different experience with EMP members then me. I haven’t to come across anyone brainwashed in the manner you’re describing. I don’t see it as being any different then a first person shooter clan. They play hardcore all the time when they could getting a job. Sanford and all them were going hard with MvC2 crack sessions before the empire stuff even existed.
so who is left in emp now, just triforce and david sirlin? a shame taht the most gaming team ever is fallin apart
Sirlin was apart of Empire Arcadia?
Eh, who cares about that, I scanned the OP and didn’t see anything about the infamous glove = lost of interest. = [
Apparently you did not scan well enough. I put a joke in there about it. It is the last sentence in the “Structure of the Regime” section.
Could you elaborate more on how Empire Arcadia is just like a “first person shooter clan?” I am curious to see your reasoning.
yeah, believe it or not
Brutally flawed article. The OP obviously has no grasp of how “pyramid schemes” actually work.
There’s no sense of objectivity whatsoever in this critique of the current state of Empire Arcadia. It’s a shame too because with some true outside looking in analysis, this thread could have brought about some interesting discussion.
Bottom line is JUSTIN left. He was their cash cow and now that the other players are jumpin ship left an right. NO money = No Arc. Game over man, game over.
Craziest part about this is people are taking this thread and “organization” seriously.
Cuz both of them have no money or place to live. Why else???
Just look at Tonamento, Sanford has $3.5k to his name for one entire year of tournament winnings that used Tonamento.
Yipes? Not even up there. So yeah… Isiah Washington has a grip on these kids.
Get a job, folks. Only a sucker wears a Powerglove 9-5 in America.
A buncha people playing games under a unified symbol.
I understand how pyramid schemes work, trust me. I am well aware of Abunza, Market America, and others like it. The term ‘pyramid scheme’ should be taken loosely. In reality, what would a gaming pyramid scheme look like? Ask yourself that question. When I say ‘pyramid scheme’ it should not be taken literally, use the concept to be applied to the structure of Empire Arcadia. The main point I wanted to make is that, like a pyramid scheme, very few will succeed when joining Empire Arcadia. The organization benefits from every new member, and has to do little to no work to maintain the structure. So again, don’t take the ‘pyramid scheme’ part too seriously, it was more of a marketing point for the article. Please just focus on the content. Thanks for your post! I greatly appreciate constructive criticism.
We both know Empire Arcadia is more than that. Give me a break.
Empire Arcadia is no different than some random clan you make to play online.
They’re not even on the same boat with real FPS leagues. Those guys get equipment from sponsors and they have brands on their competition attires.
