Akuma is pretty retarded. His health and having a couple characters being able to counter him is what is keeping him in so far.
Good luck getting out of air fireball->super. That and his j.hk has a retarded hitbox and s.mk beats every jump in. Tack on fast fireballs, teleport, completely invunerable dps, and a super.

I just don’t see it. Granted I think Akuma is good, but right now I don’t see him as god tier or anything. As you said, characters counter him; it’s ST, there are shitty matches. I mean, we let Claw, O. Sagat and Dhalsim be played in American tournaments in original ST, and I don’t think Akuma is any better (in fact he probably has more bad matchups imo). You talk about air fireball xx super, but there were plenty of times in ST characters couldn’t escape a tick that did almost as much (seriously, storm hammer does a ridiculous amount of damage) and I think a lot of characters can escape that in HDR even if it means taking some damage to do so.
Let’s wait until we have more than one tournament behind us on him.

Like the previous poster said, there’s plenty of shit in remix that does stupid damage and is very hard to escape (tick throw into command grab). akuma’s dragon punch is ridiculous though, and he’s second only to sagat in the fireball game, his fireball actually recovers one frame faster than ryu’s. btw anyone that doesn’t already have it my xbox gt is dfly1234.
I totally understand about akuma right now so thats why he is still in and will remain that way.

Jason, I figured TvC was too new for a tournament and most people havnt played it yet, so casuals would probly be better
If they really wanna do one, make it a dollar so more people would join.
